The conferences cannot and will not do that. The NIL stuff exists outside of the official school. They can’t even directly say to donate to a collective (though they can mention the existence). To say: “You have to have an NIL presence you can’t coordinate with” would be antithetical to the stated purpose.

That said…the divide between the haves and the have nots will become so much greater that you’re going to start seeing splintering of conferences like the A10. Like the CAA.

Not basketball, but an example of a player getting their bag and it still not being good enough for them. Fanatics and their ownership seem quite scummy at times, but at least they weren’t throwing money at a player with no intent to use their NIL like 99% of these deals.
