I do not suppose that there is an audio or audio/video of the screamer giving his uniquely sounding signature lead of the cheer--- As I remember
Give me an L, Give me an A.......
it would be worth preserving if it exists.
I doubt it. But you never know.

I can still hear Screamer leading that cheer . . . Fond memories. An audio or video of his cheering would be priceless!

I doubt it. But you never know. I will look to see if I can find a recording. It’s in my head and my heart, though, at this time. Went something like this: We fight hard! We fight well! When we fight we flight like L A S A L L EEEEEEEEEEE! Here we go Explorers here we go <clap clap> An original. A good man. A good fan. A good lawyer. A friend. Sending prayers for peace to his friends and family, especially his wife Marie.

If one is lucky enough to to hear recordings you might discover that most of the time it was:
We fight hard! We fight well! When we fight we fight like
HELL! A S A L L E - La Salle!!!

Done with a fist in the air to punctuate each letter. We need Screamer Jr. to lead a cheer to honor the original. It was an honor to have met him and cheered (screamed) with him.

I didn't think he would do it, but Jensen is writing a story about the Screamer. Nice of Mike to do so

Screamer posting below on 3/2/17. Laughed at this when it was originally posted.
"Mr President: I remember that day. Love Speedy. and admire Dr G for much he has done; just a sad situation.I also recall this: Brennan fires Speedy. I am furious. Anyway, new season approaches and word gets around that Screamer is going to go after B At our first game. While tempting, I would not do that. But, HTG, day before first game, I get a special delivery letter-at my law office- imploring me not to boo B. Signed by School Pres. ! However, I did draft an "Indictment" charging B w malfeasance, misfeasance and having no feasance at all! I served him w my private investigator. I don't think he shared my sense of humor. Those were wild days."

This may sound silly, but I'm glad this thread made it to at least 2 pages. We bitch, moan and complain about some of the dumbest things on this board sometimes, but Screamer was one of a kind, a good guy and a true fan. He deserved and received a nice tribute here.

If a video is found of Screamer, it would be incredible to show on the big screens during games to pump up the fans.

Nice article about David in today's Inquirer. Mike Jensen captured the spirit of one of our greatest fans. I'll leave it to a more tech savvy poster to post the link.

Not to be that guy, but if the article is behind a paywall, please don't copy and paste the whole thing (a snippet is OK). I don't even see it up on the internet yet when I searched, but maybe I wasn't looking in the right place.

He would give me some tickets from time to time because we lived close (the nova game at the palestra being the most recent) to games he couldn’t make, but had no idea he was this big of a legend but him and his wife are extremely amazing people. Very sad to hear of this news and would love to see him honored in some little way!
RIP screamer

Would be awesome if half went to the team and half went to a charity that was important to him. I have no idea if Mrs. Screamer would approve/sanction it or how one goes about doing that, but it's worth EXPLORING.

Dave was the ultimate Explorer fan... he understood the home court advantage whether at the Civic Center, Palestra, Spectrum or Gola Arena; and was able to convey that like no other fan could. He will never be replaced. May he wear the Explorer Blue and Gold forever.

I hope the athletic department honors Dave with a well-placed cut-out at the games. Someone there has to have a picture of him holding his hands up screaming his cheer.
