Shit is happening fast. It will get worse before it gets better.

It would have sucked if this was 2013 and I was sitting home with my face painted watching the games.

This is a shame for fans of the smaller schools or schools that don't get to the tournament much and their fans can't go. Like Hofstra for example, or even Dayton whose fans would be celebrating a possible #1 seed.
It would've aucked for those of us who went to the games in 2013 to have missed out on something that hadn't happened in 20 years.
I wonder how much revenue is being lost by the NCAA, and what the games will be like in large arena with no one there.

I imagine the NCAA can make this decision because of how much revenue is tied up in the TV rights. The biggest losers are the local restaurants and hotels who just went from a huge weekend to an empty weekend.

and what the games will be like in large arena with no one there. They're trying to move everything after the first week. The Final Four that was supposed to be at Falcons stadium will probably end up at Georgia Tech. Which should make this much better to watch on TV. It will probably look relatively full in the bottom sections with family members only.

Well ... that assumes the families can and will travel? Like maybe someone like BYU can charter or something because everyone is coming from a narrow radius, but even that might be a bit much depending on where we stand in a few weeks.

What is the NCAA doing with the ticket money that folks ponied up for over a year ago?
I assume they already emailed or mailed the tickets.
If so and someone bought from an anonymous scalper who bought directly from the NCAA, I gather they are kinda screwed unless they have a real way to get in touch (directly or thru the NCAA).

I'd assume you're SOL if you bought third party.

I'd assume you're SOL if you bought third party. Not really. StubHub policy is giving full refunds or 120% store credit for COVID-19 canceled events. And even "an anonymous scalper" tends to be a game day decision only these days, and with both Stub hub and ticket master being 99% electronic, the market for scalped tickets in person has got to be lower than ever.

NCAA will probably use it for expanding "stipends" for all.

The Ivy League has cancelled all sports for the remainder of the year. Does this mean they don't send Yale to the NCAA tournament?

Duke has suspended all athletics indefinitely. If there is an NCAA tournament, they won't accept a bid to it.
