I think the "depth" people are mentioning basically means that the guys on the bench are about as good as the guys in the starting lineup (which could mean multiple things, depending on your interpretation).
Hopefully Howard will use a G-style 4-man or 5-man substitution if we get out to an early lead on Nova so that we can capitalize on our depth. I don't see how we would get out to an early lead though...

I don’t see an issue with deemphasizing the press. G never pressed. We wanted some. We got through 7 games a press through most of the game. Did it work - no. So you adjust.
Part of this team’s issue with press challenges so far has been the height of our backcourt. Pookie, Traci, Jamie and Beatty are about 6’. As a result, teams are inbounding to taller players with a handle and they are passing over traps. A short lineup lacks length to use in a 1-2-2 press also so therein lies the dilemma.
As a result, the press lineup and amount of time used to press needs to be adjusted. Sticking with that approach would be a g-sastrous replay of Groundhog Day. We have seen that movie far too many times.

A team short on talent with a limited bench should be slowing the game down, NOT pressing, running-and-gunning, or shooting the ball within the first 20 seconds of the shot clock. (And if you're going to insist on using the 3-point shot as a mainstay of your offense, GET BETTER at it.)

(And if you're going to insist on using the 3-point shot as a mainstay of your offense, GET BETTER at it.) I think this makes for an interesting area of discussion. I frankly have not given up on this squads ability to generate greater O within this "system". Something like---It might mean trying to see if we could make some adjustments within this O. Would love to see the 2 guys (Pookie and Shaggy) who draw the D, often double teams due to being able to generate their own O, begin to either by coach's design or player intent look to more regularly find some of the other guys in spots where they might have a chance to score. Create O for them. And of course the other guys finding a way to hit some mid range and short jumpers. I have not given up on Carter, Beaty, and Chedi in this regard. Miles showed some nice O game last time out in this regard. I must say that the notion of slowing the game down to see if it can maybe help us win a game or 2 could gain in appeal if let say 0 and 7 extends to 0 and 12.
