The ranksings I just looked at were for games through 12/23, and had the Explorers at 59th. Where did the 33 come from? Siena is actually ranked lower than Sacred Heart. That should be another blow out, if we don't look past them. Miami is 26th. We have our work cut out for us in the beginning of the A10 schedule. First 7 games I'd like to finish 4-3, at least. @charlotte, Richmond, Dayton, @x, Butler, @vcu & UMASS. A Butler victory at home would sure be nice.

I think you were probably looking at the kenpom rankings.

the disparity between the two rankings that we are looking at is pretty insane. it always cracks me up, how they are so far apart. i'll take either one of them right now, as we should be in a good spot going into Conference play. I would imagine our number is only going to go down as long as we can play the type of ball that we are expecting in A-10 play.

I never included kenpom in past years and the disparity is why I started. Paints a fuller picture of the rankings

yeah, i love it. gives you a good idea at what each looks at. i guess that is the answer to the question of why you can never figure out who gets in the tourney and who does not.

ESPN Power Rankings:
1. VCU 2. Butler 3. Temple 4. St. Louis 5. Dayton 6. La Salle 7. Charlotte 8. St. Joe's 9. Xavier 10. Richmond 11. UMass 12. St. Bonaventure 13. GW 14. Duquesne 15. URI 16. Fordham
"6. La Salle. The Explorers shoot the ball well and don't turn it over -- they have the 19th-lowest turnover rate in the country as of this writing -- and their lack of fouls on the defensive end is keeping their per-possession numbers respectable. What this team needs now is a statement win, or something like it, and a win in Wednesday's visit to Miami would be exactly that."

But the understanding is clear.. we need a big win against a brand name.. Nova was not that..

Expectations have gone up big time since Garland's debut. With La Salle showing a very potent offense and back court, we really can't complain about having little talent. AND we are getting respect around the A10. Coach can't screw this up this year. He's got the best La Salle team we've seen in nearly 20 years.

Wins over Miami and butler early could be the statements we need. But for now let's just win tomorrow night.
