Tomorrow's game will Bucknell will be interesting.
It seems Bucknell's strength is in the middle with the 6'11" big man. His last two games have been quite impressive.
Our strength is our guard rotation. It will be interesting to watch this match-up.
Ideally, our guards will dictate the tempo and minimize the Bucknell advantage in the middle.
Tomorrow will be one of those games I wish we had a third big man to come off the bench.

The big guy for Bucknell is Mike Muscala, the reigning Patriot League POY. He's having a stellar senior season so far. Their weakness is at point guard, where it looks like a freshman has finally won the job. He'll have his hands full with our back court. I'll be in Lewisburg tomorrow! I fear it's going to be a heck of a game.

Freshman Ryan Frazier in recent games has been playing about 10 mpg at the point. He could win the starting job before the year is over - but he is not the starter at this point. Muscala, btw, won the league's POY as a soph but lost out to CJ McCollum last year.

Keep Muscala under 15 points and 10 rebounds and we'll win. PSU did a great job getting him early foul trouble and limited his playing time some. This guy has the potential to score 25+ points and is a rebounding machine. Wright needs a big game and Duren and Galloway need to hit their shots from the outside.

Muscala played 37 minutes and was never in any foul trouble at Penn State. He committed his first foul with 9 minutes left in the game, and had only two fouls until the final 30 seconds. What limited him was PSU doubling him at all times and Bucknell not doing a good job spreading the floor.

You're right, Muscala just plain sucked against a Tim Frazierless PSU.

Just keep the ball from getting into the low post at will and our guards should be able to find shots on offense with good ball movement like we saw against PSU. Garland is a potential X factor for us. No idea what he may bring and neuter does Bucknell You want to go to the NCAA tourney? You win this game

Bison, thanks for the input. I like having fans here of other teams who can contribute good info.

The Bucknell vs. Lehigh games this year are going to be pretty awesome. Two really good teams anchored by NBA-level talent.

A couple notes on Bucknell's approach....
They're essentially last in the country in terms of forcing turnovers, but their D is still effective because they are upper tier in terms of forcing a low FG% and not allowing offensive rebounds.
Their offensive attack takes excellent care of the basketball and is buoyed by getting to the FT line at a high rate and making nearly 80% of them. The weakest aspect of their offense is likely offensive rebounding.
They play the 290th fastest tempo out of nearly 350 D-I teams and do not shoot many 3s.
This is a team that will not beat itself and judging from their style, my main concern (as it often is) is that this will be one of those games where we're forced to play long stretches of the game without Jerrell (and possibly Ramon) due to foul trouble. At least we'll have Tyrone to sop up any extra minutes in the backcourt, but frontcourt depth could be a real issue going against a team whose main weapon is 6'11"

Ball pressure to force them into their offense later than they would like to and hopefully more perimeter shots at a low % leading to up tempo run outs and a faster pace than they want to play
