Hello everyone, was lurking on the old board for years and posted a few times (about Sigma Phi Lambda especially.) Anyway I spend a ton of time on the A10 board and our level of representation is just abysmal. I know they have given us a really tough time in the past, and Explorer Steve is a pariah but I think it’s time we made a comeback. People are not hating on us so much, and our team is actually good. I think that it’s imperative that we get involved, and in force, in order to help cement ourselves in any up coming conference mergers. We also owe it to the team and any potential recruits as I guarantee both read the board (at least a little). Also creating some kind of support for us on the board would be a positive step forward in many ways. We need to start acting like we belong to be here, and believe a bit in the team. If Fordham fans can post in there then so can we. Things may snowball, current students may have the guts to post on there, and it may influence support for the team (any forward progress is great). Hope we can come together and do something, maybe start a game thread for the Bucknell game, etc. I think it’s time to put our money where our mouth is.
I'm sick of watching us have a nice win against a BCS school or otherwise and having 0 mentions on that board.

What happens on that board has zero impact on conference affiliation. La Salle wll live and die on it's merits like on-court success and facilities. That board does not impact anything.
I used to frequent the board but don't any longer. Almost everyone has an agenda and it isn't worth the time trying to change their opnions because almost all of them cannot look at things objectively.
If La Salle goes to the Sweet 16 I promised myself I would go on the board and drop an "F-U" to everyone. Until then I like our little niche right here where many share the same hopes and same frustrations I feel.
I will extend a welcome aboard to you however and hope you join the banter here.

It seems as though 80% of the posts on the A 10 board are related to Dayton / Xavier issues. This lack of varity gets boring after a bit. I do like WH's contributions and the info on UMass $. GW. Other tha that it's pretty one sided information.

I would just like us to act like we belong. I know for a fact that there are several LaSalle fans lurking on the board, and they are all afraid or reluctant to post. Yes there are a ton of X and UD fans but there are plenty of others on there. LaSalle is literally the only school with virtually nobody posting.

I read that board but post very rarely any more. I used to let the wack jobs and a-holes there get to me but anymore I could give a rat's azz what they think. It's not worth my time to go back and forth with a bunch of clueless morons.
Take away the facility issue, and La Salle has been more than competitive in that league for the last 8 years but those idiots can't figure that out and continue to lump La Salle in with Fordham whenever they start their "kick someone out" campaigns.
I'm not afraid or reluctant to post. I just don't want to waste my time bickering with the clowns on that board. There are a few decent posters there, but the vast majority of them aren't worth responding or paying attention to.

I think part of the problem with us being lumped in with Fordham is that were an easy target, no one is there to defend us. Fordham has fans posting and dealing with the crap thrown at them. I just wish we werent such hermits, and rightfully took our seat at the table. Understand where your coming from dont get me wrong

Read this quote today on the a10 board ironicly. I agree with the poster" I think the board is important. Last post sorry guys

The speculation is fun I suppose, but don't take yourselves too seriously. There are a lot of moving parts and the musical chairs music is far away from stopping.
For the most part I agree Knobby, I don't think an AD or President is surfing through messageboards looking for ideas, and I don't take myself too seriously. (BTW, not sure I said drop Fordham, we can't do that--can we? I simply said St. Johns would get an invite even if Fordham disagreed--more making the point there is a big difference between Rhode Island and NYC).
On the other hand, I'm also aware powerful alumni do read these boards. If I had the time, research, or effort to put facts behind what I believe to be true, I'd simply write or call the people that affect decisions rather than post them here. I don't have that time. But they might be inspired from reading here, and if they see an idea from these boards from our fans, they may be spurred to action to flesh out the ideas. If they don't so what--nothing lost.
And if you think the boards really are just a closed closet with fans screaming into it that only other fans in that same closet hear, I can tell you from personal experience that's not the case. In jettisoning our former President successfully, the Spider messageboard played a surprising and fairly integral part of the process. Don't underestimate the forums or other forms of social media impacting big decisions.
On the whole, I agree for the most part the speculation is more fun than the idea any one post will affect change. Unlike you I think there is some small (1 in a 1000 or 1,000,000 or however many zeros it is) chance somebody comes up with a good idea here or on another forum, and that merits discussion by the people moving the pieces and making the decisions."
