All four seem to be playing the game of "Who is the absolute worst?" And all of them are winning! At least Hextall shows some promise.
Trading McCoy for another ex-Oregon player who missed all of last year with an ACL? Usually I'm not this disgusted with the Eagles until late November.

If they didnt trade him, they were going to cut him. He was owed $11M and doesn't run in a way that is conducive to Kelly's system. Can't run out of the shotgun.

I like the move.
I also like what Hinkie is doing.
Amaro is so far below the other GM's it is amazing.

Which one of the 4 is not like the other? GREAT move getting that much in return for McCoy, I'll miss him but it was the right deal.
I won't go to another Phillies game until RAJ is gone.

Amaro's a stone cold idiot and he has single-handedly taken the Phillies down with his bone head moves and bad signings. He's completely eviscerated the farm system. The Phillies will be bad for years to come thanks to him.
I like what Hinkie's doing. I think it's a gamble, but if Embiid gets healthy and they get a decent point-guard, they'll start to make some noise in a few years. I was happy to see Michael Carter Williams go. he was a less than average, skinny, frail PG that cannot shoot. He may be good for a year or two under Kidd, but his body will start to break down as he gets pounded by bigger guards and forwards.
Hextall has his hands tied by Holmgren's previous dumb moves. I think Holmgren and Amaro compared notes all the time. Hextall seems to have a clue, but it's going to be a long rebuild.
I don't like this move by Kelly. He's a good coach, but I think McCoy had a few more good years left in him. The guy they picked up is a gamble because this isn't the first time he's had a knee problem. I also hate the fact that he's bringing in too many Ducks. I get that you go with what you're familiar with, but odds are that not every guy he brings in from the Ducks is going to be good. You have to cast a wider net when selecting talent. I also wish he had gone for a corner or safety or two as that's the bigger need right now. I still wouldn't have traded McCoy straight up for this guy regardless.

The Eagles have so many deficiencies that they really can't afford to weaken a position where they were somewhat strong. And McCoy ran fine in Kelly's system the first year because they used him better. This year, they all but abandoned the screen pass, which was very effective in 2013-2014, and having 40% of a healthy offensive line didn't help. Now they brought in a guy who had a torn ACL last year and who we've seen some production from in his rookie year but is still a bit of a mystery. If you're trading McCoy, why not try and package him in some deal that allows you to move up in the draft?
I go back and forth on Hinkie. I understand what he is trying to do but I hope at a certain point we stop collecting assets and lottery tickets and start cashing them in. I'd like Okafor, but we have two centers, which would mean another potential move.
Amaro is an idiot and should have been fired years ago.

I understand trading away McCoy, but I am really starting to get sick of the whole Oregon thing.

Shady must be pissed going to Buffalo?
Eagles got someone to take Shady's $24.5m over next 3 years and he thought he was underpaid (wasn't going to be happy). Picked up a LB who is a concern coming off an ACL but if healthy he's Luke Kechley light. Plus he's signed for 2 years for a total of $1.7 million. Eagles got $11.5 million of cap relief this season.
Evan Mathias seems to be next player to go.

Evan Mathias seems to be next player to go. Chip doesn't like guys that complain about their contracts. And I'm ok with that.

Chip doesn't like guys that complain about their contracts. And I'm ok with that. Me too. I understand it, but don't like it. The o-line struggled last year with injuries (10 different starters through year), but was still a solid unit. If you lose (cut) Herremanns and Mathis, they have a lot of work to do to get the unit back to where it was two years ago. I know they have lots of cap room, but you still need to make the right moves.

Foles for Sam Bradford and a 2nd round pick??!?!?!?!?! Don't understand it other than getting more assets to trade and get Mariota. Still no guarantee you can get Mariota at this point so why damage the QB spot now? Saints are making a move trading Graham? Are they after Maritoa as well. Could be a disaster if Chip doesn't get him.

I think now is as good a time as any to point out that Bradford and Alonso have one working ACL between the two of them.

As an outsider, watching my Chip-loving friend twist more and more to find the logic in these moves and slowly give up has been a blast. He's now fully separating Chip the coach (best ever) and Chip the GM. If they sign Murray for big money, he might explode.
