I don't mean to draw attention away from the terrible slide our team is currently on, but I feel the need to bring this issue up in a centralized discussion. I cannot take the temperature at the TGA any longer. It has always been too hot in there, but lately I just find myself angrier and angrier about it. It is WAY TOO HOT up in those bleachers. In the coldest winter in ages, the temperature in the gym has been as hot as ever. This is a problem that could be fixed by one person turning one knob.
I really don't understand why it is the way it is. Usually by the end of the game I feel like I'm as wet as Bill Murray after caddying for the Lutheran bishop. Does anyone else care about this, or am I just a psycho?

Does anyone else care about this, or am I just a psycho? Too funny. My Father and I have been complaining about the temperature for 2 years. Surprised others have noticed. Maybe if we had seats behind the baskets it would be cooler. Regardless I agree it is too hot in the gym.

After the 2 games before Rhodey I really can't blame them for not showing up. G couldn't win a game at Rose Hill gym against a lousy Fordham team if his coaching career depended on it. The students prolly want a new direction for the team as many here do.

Maybe because they practice in it everyday, the players and coaches think it gives them an advantage over the competition to keep it warmer.
Or maybe it's just another thing for an unhappy fan base to complain about.

When the developers planned the TGA, they envisioned the biggest eyesore of a sauna (that can also be a gym) in America.

For a school with a small budget, we sure waste money on the heating bill. Any chance its from the swimming pool below?

This is a different type of thing than other arena talk. This isn't something that involves high-dollar amount construction, this (should be) a relatively simple fix.
I don't get to as many games as others due to living in New York, and the last 2 years especially, with working every weekend, but he is right. I always feel my face getting really flushed and stuff by the 2nd half of most games.

This is a control issue. Cool air from the outside is to be filtered and brought into the arena. I noticed this problem back during the Fordham game.

Wister also has this issue...place f'in boils up.
The reason for this issue is more simple than you think...heat rises..thermostats are on the first floor..and what is the top floor...TGA.
Even though I used to use the workout equipment in the swimming pool area...that place was also hot as hell.

What, no "hell" jokes yet?
A10 I know TGA is bad, but I find it nearly impossible to believe that they built that whole place with only one heating zone. There has to be a thermostat on the arena level, doesn't there?

Wister also has this issue...place f'in boils up. Wister's basement boiler room provides heat and hot water to Wister, the Brother's Residence, and College Hall.

The big difference between Wister and TGA is the lack of rattling and whistling radiators in TGA

Did anyone notice that it was 15 to 20 degrees cooler today? There is only one explanation: someone saw this thread and turned down the thermostat ... And look what happened! We could be a Top 25 team if Dr. Denim was replaced by Dr. Manayunk53.

This board becomes more influential by the day! More brains on this board than in the BOT and running the school I think so it should influence things.
