cityofbasketballlove.com/2014/07/podcast-of-basketball-love-episode-38/Around the 16 17 minute mark they talk about the Philly schools. Josh Verlin is high on La Salle. Basically says season hinges on Amar Stukes. Thinks they could be a tournament contender team. Jon Roth noted how important the Virginia at Barclays and Villanova at home. Said that he couldn't imagine what the Gola be like for the Nova game if we beat Virginia. Could do okay around 500 in A10 play if they manage to win those two games and still get into the tournament. I didn't think Jon Roth was that high on the A10 still. I just got so pumped up. Can't wait.

Agree with the foregoing thoughts Josh -- great job.
I love that little zinger by Jon at the end -- "there's a lot of Scott Macahado in Amar Stukes." That is a mouthful. If Amar can play like Scott, then we will be dancing. Here's a recap of Scott's careerat Iona:
"As a freshman, Machado led the Gaels in points scored (288, a 9.2 per game average), set a school record for assists by a freshman (150) and was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference rookie of the year. As a sophomore, he averaged 12.5 points and 3.9 assists, leading the Gaels to a 21-win season. He was selected second team All-Conference. As a junior, Machado broke out, averaging 13.2 points and 7.6 assists per game (second in the nation). He set a school record for assists in a season (281) and was named first team all-conference.[1] As a senior, Machado broke the school record for assists in the first game of the season and broke Siena's Ronald Moore's MAAC record in a February 18 game against Nevada. Machado emerged as one of the top point guards in the country. He was named a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award and the Wooden Award.

Stukes just looked outmatched... I really hope this offseason was put to good use.. I have my faith in him.. He was always underrated for how successful he was.. I have to think he used that as a motivation tool over the last 13 months.

G said he was nervous and played a lot better than he showed. G also said he was not worried. Flash forward to end of last season where the youngster had a whole practice season against Sr guards, G said he is delighted in the young man. This is someone who sees him everyday.
