Met Mr. Moore when he was at La Salle for Induction in the HOF. He is in wonderful shape. Said he was very proud of La Salle and was grateful to get to speak with Mrs. Gola.
He is spending many of his retirement days driving people to the Red Cross to either give or receive blood.

My High School Coach, Alonzo Lewis also played at LaSalle in the 50's... Like Mr. Moore, he was also the only Black on the team and experienced extreme levels of racism on the road....
LaSalle was way ahead of the curve in that regard!!

I am mortified that I was unaware of this part of our history. Much thanks to Mr. Moore for his meaningful contributions to LaSalle.

I'm curious, out of all the Big 5 schools which had the first African American player? And what was that gentleman's name? If anyone has the book Palestra Pandemonium take a look for me.
