I know this year has been disappointing. But these kids still put in time and work and deserve a huge thanks.
TYREEK DUREN -- The best PG La Salle has had in my 20-ish years following the program. Silky smooth and a true game general. I'll miss TD3 so much.
SAM MILLS -- A terrific defensive player and very good from long-range. By all accounts, he's also a really great kid (they all are, but I know folks who know him) with an excellent head on his shoulders.
TY GARLAND -- I said La Salle's run last year was one of the best two-weeks of my life. It really was. The outpouring of love from across the city, and the ways we got to express what La Salle is about to the country, came because of The Southwest Philly Floater. And not just because it was made, but because of Ty's insanely great post-came interview with Craig Sager. It will forever be my favorite sports moment. SHOUT OUT TO COUSIN BERN!
TAYLOR DUNN -- The unsung hero of the team. He's the first off the bench to celebrate and give hugs. He can also shoot the ball a little bit and, in his limited time, doesn't mess up. Someone also told me he's really close to being an Academic All-American type.
It's been great to follow these kids. Much love.

Just because some of us have been critical of Garland and Mills play this season doesn't mean we dislike them nor discredit their accomplishments. We love you guys for wearing the Blue and Gold proudly and allowing Mr. Tom Gola to see one last great LaSalle post-season run before passing away. You guys have set the bar high for the incoming players.

Kudos to Sam Mills. He has really tried to bring his offensive game up over the last couple of weeks to try to put the team over the hump. Sad what if. Imagine having Duren and Mills and having the 6'5" guys at the same time to go with Wright and Zack. That team could really be something. If only.
