Screamer is not nuts. OK, maybe he is nuts but could still be right. Played StL and VCU to buzzer-and still did not play our best game. Beat GW. Lost to StJ, Dayton, Richmond and Bonnies, and did not come close to our best game., Solution-play our best in Brooklyn and hope somebody takes out UMASS bec that is not a good matchup for us.I think we can step-up game in Brooklyn and the post season atmosphere will help us. Maybe even have a flashback to last year.I expect Sam and DJ to play better. If we play with passion, pride and CONFIDENCE, and get a little luck, we can stun the A-10. Lets Go Explorers.

Sorry, but this is really pushing it. This team is more likely to lose out than they are to win even 2 games in Brooklyn. If they somehow got Duquesne, URI, Fordham and Mason, then yeah, I'd give us a puncher's chance.
This team is bad. There's really no evidence to suggest otherwise through 26 games.

Screamer I would love to have you defend me in court. Love your optimism.
Here is the road to the Championships. Let's assume chalk holds except for us of course. We are currently #9.
Open vs. #8 SBU. Lost badly once and play this week in a rematch. Get by them and you get. Second round vs. #1 SLU. Lost but they are playing for high seed and won't take us for granted. Semifinals #4 VCU or #5 Richmond. Lost to both. Finals #2 sju(pa) (how weird is that) vs. #3 UMASS. Lost to both and have sju (pa) again.

Not going to win against anyone with such poor shooting, what happened to our guards (not Duren) regressing so...I'll be there come wed., and again when we play mason, and @ St.Joe's a little after, hope our coach shows up!

Ya'll should go back to boner kill central, because you're all a bunch of wet blankets calling for the head of the coach who rehabbed a floundering program to a Sweet 16.
So shit's gone bad this year and I'm not about to make Giannini about to be the savior, but you guys need to find an equal middle ground also.
Live and die by the extremes.

I've not seen anyone call for Dr. G's head. I have seen a lot of questioning regarding the contributions of his assistant coaches and the need to evaluate them. There is a big difference between commenting on game plans, rotations, etc and calling for his head. A big difference - which you are misinterpreting.

If I am another A-10 team, I would not want to play us in Brooklyn. We have nothing to lose. We have experience of last year in Sweet 16. We have some very good players who have and will play well. We have 1 very good player who has not had a good year but who can redeem himself. We have 2 others who have not done much this year but whom made great contributions last year and can do it again. This is NOT a dreadful team but a team that at times has played dreadfully. Did u ever have a bad day at work? What to do? Get up the next day and kick ass. We are a small school with a small fan base. We must stay with the team.

Screamer, to win the A10's would require four days of high level play against high level competition. Not saying it can't be done but we are the poster child for inconsistency. Just being realistic. Love your optimism.

I kinda agree with Screamer. I think we're just feeling out the A10. Giving the rest of the conference a false sense of hope, maybe an air of over-confidence when they meet up with us in the post season? I mean, c'mon...are we really this bad? 3-24 shooting nights just don't happen, do they? Do you realize just how difficult it is for college level basketball players to shoot under 20% from the field on some (most?) nights? And miss REALLY BAD? It looks really deceptive to me. I think we're all in for a surprise come tournament time. The law of averages (shooting %) eventually catch up with you, and I think we're going to be a little surprised in the coming weeks. Don't back down Screamer....Keep the Faith.

We're not going to win four games in four days with a team that can't score. It just won't happen. Our shooting is bad because the offense is so slow, waiting too long to make the extra pass and allowing defenses to rotate. It's been the problem all year. It's why guys who shot well last year aren't taking shots - because they aren't open by the time they get the ball - and it's part of why we get so many shots blocked. Our offense, especially outside of Duren and Wright, just isn't very good. We have the ability to win the 8-9 game, maybe even steal one game if everything goes right that day, but we'd need to consistently shoot the ball well and that hasn't happened since last March.

I don't think we will, but I think we can. Lots of years I haven't thought we can.
(Also, I somehow missed "boner kill central" before. That should be our timeout place for negative whiny types.)

"We Can Win the A-10 Tourney"
Of course we can.
The sad part is we have a very good (if not better) shot of getting bounced in the first round too.

Winning the A-10 tournament is a lock as long as Duren averages 16 pts/game, Jerrell 20/10, Zack all double doubles, Garland 18/game, Mills 3-8 per game on threes, and Peterson hits two game winning threes on his first shot of each game.

Can't tell if sarcastic or not... The first three points are all uniquely possible, but getting all three to happen on a given day could be a slim chance, not to mention the fact that there are at least four rounds in Brooklyn. The rest of the events were rather remotely possible, except for Peterson making six points in one shot attempt. So just in case you thought that you could take real odds on the first five events lining up for four days in a row, he threw in the Peterson point to diminish any glimmer of hope you had left at that point. Some fans would have had no faith in points 4 and 5 either, though that's what we needed last year, and we got it, so there is some hope if you believe in our chances.

Screamer said it can be done. We need to get hot and it starts tonight. Possible.. Yes.. Probable.. No but what the heck. St Louis is stumbling and IF we can put something together here late who knows. Stranger things have happened. Maybe this team was waiting for this moment. Backs against the wall. Last A10 tourny for the seniors. Hoping Garland finds his touch and can get to the rim without it getting blocked everytime. Sam needs to find his range. TD needs to be magical and our bigs have to be dominant. With that being said I am going to hope for the best. Need to get hot from 3 and this becomes a different team.

This team just lost at home, with veteran players, on Senior night, to a 10-18 team. And they can win 4 straight games on the road in the A10 Tourney? Seriously?
Last year's team was the best, most surprising, most fun team I've seen play as a Philadelphia fan and LaSalle alum. This year's team is the most disappointing, most frustrating to watch, LaSalle team I've ever seen. The crazy part is that both teams are comprised of the same players and coach. Except this year's has a one year more experience, and NCAA tourney wins under it's belt.
I don't get it.

I'm thinking screamer's intention was lost or overlooked. I read his initial post as more of a "was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?" sort of moment.
