It looked like La Salle still had a time out left. They're not that good/organized/talented enough to get cute and try to catch a St. Louis in a defensive lapse to get a tying basket. That nonsense Garland (literally) threw up at the end is a joke. Your argument for why we lost is that we didn't have a better "three seconds left-desperation" play? If you want to have a rant, how about keeping Jett out of the lane even once in the second half without fouling? No, don't be an imbecile. I didn't say that was the reason the entire game was a loss. But EVERY team from high school on up works on a "desperation play" at the end of the game from the beginning of pre-season practice.

Garland killed us tonight. He gets so frustrated when things don't go his way. We also didn't have an answer for Jett as pointed out.
They are playing better basketball. Need to finish strong and make alot of noise in the A10s. Call me crazy but they can hang with any team in the A 10.

They didn't have a Time Out. So your opinion is as uninformed as it is predictable. So says the guy who posts: "Jett his another driving lay-up, Garland missed the half-court prayer. We lose by 2. Fuck Jordaire Jett." So intelligent.....so eloquent.........so...............stupid.Are you going to report me for profanity like you do with 3 or 4 posts a game, even after I told you people are allowed to curse? And for the record, my F to Jett was in admiration of his play. I think eveyone got what I meant with that. He killed us today.

Probably Manhattan and VCU also. If we just found a way to chuck a better desperate three, we'd be 13-8 and everything would be basically fine (meaning you wouldn't be on the board).

John did not look defeatedt it looked disappointed. That said I try to not determine someone else's mindset based on how they look at a given moment. I agree with Neiman that given the balance of the schedule the can win 5-6 games if the play as they did today.

No, they showed him twice with his hands in his face looked defeated, forlorn and exasperated. More down and demoralized than I can ever remember seeing a coach on national TV. Just my opinion. And it doesn't help things after his comments following the VCU loss.

And it doesn't help things after his comments following the VCU loss. I understand why he feels that way, but as the head coach, G needs to keep it together better than that. There's no way seeing the coach looking beaten down like that can have anything but a negative impact on the players.

We played well tonight. Missed a bunch of 2 footers. Garlands poor shooting hurt us. Our bigs were very good. We have progressed beyond the moral victories. We need to win these games now. I wanted to see our crowd go nuts when we won. Let's win enough for an NIT invite. G needs to keep this team together. Wright looked like he took another step to becoming a dominant player.

lol this board
Garland and Khalid went 3-12. When we had that five minute lapse in the second half, I remember a series of poor shots. Overall we played fantastic but we can't have these lapses of several bad selfish possessions frequently in the hands of Garland and Khalid.
We play well when we pass a lot and get the ball inside to Wright and Zack. We did that most of the game.
I was at the game and as soon as the fight song was over, tyreek and team started to go high five the fans as they left. Someone called them all away to the locker room. Looked over at G and he walked all the way from center court to the locker room with his face down in his hand. Coupled with his comments last few games, have to wonder what is getting said in locker room. Week between games could not come at better time.

I'm all for taking this stretch of gut punches out on Al. Claims he watched the game but then says we still had a timeout at the end. Surely G was trying to surprise SLU by not calling it there so Garland could throw up a prayer off balance from half court. But I'm a bigger fan of him coming on a message board and speaking nonsense and when people don't agree with him (everyone) he tells them "Who gives a fuck what you think?" after complaining about someone else cursing on the board. I think it's about time we ban a poster to appease whatever deity we pissed off and caused this season to go like this.

After reading the SLU message board, I have think they are one of ugliest, meanest and most self-centered group around. You would never know they played La Salle except for the mention of the neighborhood. Great team. Mean fan base.
BTW, VCU isn't much better. They are really venomous. Check out our game thread and yesterday's SJU thread.

See, I like VCU and their fans. My group of teams I don't like in the A-10 for one reason or another (usually their fans) are St. Joe's, Dayton, and St. Louis. All things being equal, I generally like to see them lose.

Check out our game thread and yesterday's SJU thread. They're pretty venomous with their own players, too (my italics): "Jordair's 25 was not surprising given I've never respected the defense La Salle plays. I think seven of his nine baskets were layups. He blew guys at will and Zack was not talented enough to stop the end result."

I'd rather judge a fan base based on the people in the stands rather than people on a message board. I wouldn't want other fans to judge us based on bolded, oversized font.

Think that all comes with success, sadly. The more you expect winning, national rankings, etc the less humble you become.

This and the VCU loss still hurt. I thought we played great overall. Still am proud of the way these kids fight and of the development of Zack and Wright. I would have liked to see them run a double at Jett on the perimeter and force someone else to make a shot to beat us but so it goes.
I am really going to miss Tyreek, he's a special player and a great kid.
I still think we are going to be a very dangerous team if we can get a 6 or 7 seed for Brooklyn. We'll see.

Glad you brought up Duren. He's really become one of my favorite players since following the program (10yrs). He is such a great floor general and will be GREATLY MISSED. Has any one else noticed how good he's been from 3 since recovering from the foot injury?? On Saturday when he got the ball in the corner, there was almost no doubt in my mind it was going in. He's really been knocking down everything from outside especially when he is wide open. Sooo I went into ESPN and looked at his game logs and from the Wagner game 12/19 to now he has shot 33/69 from long range. That's over 13 games, he's shooting .478 from three. Almost 50% from our point guard is amazing. Those are Darnell Harris numbers. I guess shooting over the summer with Jameer really did help his game. Wonder what happened to Garland? I think right now he has not confidence in his shot. Hopefully he can find it before the a10 tournament!

Both Real Time RPI and RPI Forecast have us fininshing at 15-15. Which would have us winning the three home games and losing the four away games. If we can play the way we played against VCU and St. Louis I think we can finish 5-2 or even 6-1. Go Explorers.
