She suffered a terrible injury in yesterday's game versus SJU at Gola. TV,I am told, did not show any replays since they deemed it too difficult to see. She was down for about 10 minutes on the court before being taken by EMT on a stretcher. What a shame for the young lady. She is a 5th year Grad Student transfer from Alabama.
Get well Khristin.

JB, I was tuning in off and on, and it got to be almost 30 minutes before she was taken off the court. For some reason, there was no EMT crew at the game so they had to wait for paramedics to get there. Felt terrible for her and the other players. The girls on SJU's bench were close to tears the whole time. Screamer, I didn't see it, but lower leg injury. I believe broken, and maybe badly, because the announcers were referencing the Louisville kids injury last year in the tourney. Get well Khristin.

Does the school cover her medical bills? She might miss the next semester if she cannot get to classes or is in therapy. Does her scholarship extend? Could a collection from alumni help her with anything? With this type of injury, she will need a lot of help and hopefully, she will get whatever assistance she will need. Any thoughts?

I believe she is a 5th year (1-year) transfer, so she won't get another year because of 16 games played. Pretty sure school insurance will cover most, if not all costs. Maybe some former athletes on here can chime in on that. As for the collection, I'd say ask Lyons or Gullick at the next game and see what they say.

Screamer and Belfield, my understanding is that the school's insurance policy picks up what the athlete's personal doesn't cover (secondary insurance). As for her scholarship, I don't know the answer but I can't imagine her not being able to finish her education at La Salle if and when she wants to. I would also think she could be a Grad Asst (if there is room) and complete her education.
On a side note, one of the Volleyball players broke her leg during a match last year. She was a Business major and had a class on the 3rd floor. College Hall doesn't have an elevator. Brother Mike made arrangements for the class to be on the first floor. Small thing but a real nice act by Brother Mike.
Might be nice idea to send a Get Well card to her via the Women's Basketball Office unless maybe someone like Kevin Bonner has a better suggestion.

The athletic department has shown a well documented history of taking care of athlete's academia and health. You can rest assure that Khristin will be taken care of. As stated the athletic department has secondary insurance for all athletes. Before someone chimes in on the football player (and yes it is very sad situation), the department has 20x more stories of good deeds that will go, by in large, never heard of.

Coach Williams told Kale during a halftime radio interview that Khristin Lee broke her tibia bone. According to Coach, she will be back next season. That is good news. Get well Khristin.

I thought she was a grad student transfer. Is she eligible for a medical red shirt with that status and this late in the season?

I looked at her Player Profile and it shows that she played in 2010-11 and 2011-12 at Alabama but did not play in 2012-13. Played this season at La Salle. Maybe she does get a 4th year?
