I still find it weird how different I am from the masses here. I liked/like Temple. I hate St. Joseph's of PA and Villanova but Temple's cool. Residual Quincy Wadley goodwill or something. Let me guess, next you're going to tell us you're a communist and you're taking your talents to Steve's looneyverse.

Has Tyreek beaten Temple since he arrived at La Salle? Don't think so, I think this could be the last chance. Time to do it! I don't think we've beaten Temple since I enrolled many moons ago, so Tyreek surely hasn't. We've lost 8 straight against them, last win coming at Liacouras Center in 2008-09. I believe it was the game Rodney Green was kept out of the starting lineup and then had a huge game off the bench.

My feelings exactly (aside from the Quincy Wadley referrence, of course.) However my hate for Nova has soften since Jay Wright came aboard but I still find their fans obnoxious. Temple does not and has never really bothered me. SJU fans are the worst - hands down.

Yeah, the only reason I have St. Joseph's of PA and Nova on the same tier is because I only have friends from Nova. I'm sure a friendly competition would tier them differently.

If we want to go outside the realm of basketball, UPenn is the worst. Wharton produces so many Wolf Of Wall Street wannabes. Those types of people are truly horrible people. Greed, greed, greed.
However, there is no greater form of hell than being trapped on Lancaster Ave./Main Street Manayunk during a big 'Nova outpouring.
My St. Joe's hatred is solely due to the free pass Lord Martelli gets in this city. He's a bad person. He threw so many kids under the bus for super petty reasons. Todd O'Brien was no saint but for real -- let the kid transfer. He also tried to bury CJ Aiken. These are kids, dolt.

A friend from school once drunkenly asked Jay Wright and wife to come back to the townhouse and party post coaches versus cancer event. She was all about it, he wasn't. Kiss my ass Jay, that could have been fun, ya wet blanket. Been storing this one in because I'm still furious.
You know, since we're onto other schools now...

Here are some sobering statistics. Be it at Penn or Temple, Dunphy seems to have La Salle's number. Franny has been defeated by La Salle only four (4) times in 30 meetings. As for TU, all time series, Temple leads 71-40. First meeting 1900. Last La Salle win 2009. Last Temple win 2013. G beat Dunphy once (2009) in 14 matchups. G has only won twice against Temple, 2009 and 2006 (Chaney.) We also beat Temple in the otherwise dismal 2006-07 season, for a total of three wins under G. Not that that makes it significantly better, but I do remember being at all three wins as a student, which somewhat softened my attitude toward Temple for a while, since they were the Big 5 team that we could beat my first two years. That started to turn after I listened to their fans whining about what a bad loss it was when we beat them at Liacouras in '09.

Don't forget Temple play-by-play announcer Harry Donahue complaining after an Owl loss at Gola that the "ball" was to blame. He said it looked like it came from an old Rec League.

I guess we know what Big 5 school turned you down.

I went to Temple Law from 1977-80. Always greatful for the ed. opportunity at a very fair price. The students, by and large , were nice-but we hade all come from different schools. The school, even at a professional level could not compare to LSU. But, that was because of its size, and other factors. The real problem was the attitude of the Law School and U. adm. Liacouras once referred to the law school, as the Harvard of the Delaware. That was embarrassing. Not that I have ever taken a step back from a Harvard lawyer-but show your ability; do not brag about a status that does not exist.Too, I did not take to the uber-liberalness of many professors. Do not begrudge their views, but felt it was improper to color their classroom presentation-especially on basic law.In short, I have fond memories of law school, but LSU is a better place to be, and Temple, on and off the BB court should be more modest.

Not to be a spoilsport, but John Chaney had at least one strong suit. La Salle's Future In MCC Seems Remote by Dick Jerardi, Daily News Sports Writer POSTED: May 28, 1993 articles.philly.com/1993-05-28/sports/25963007_1_mcc-salle-athletic-director-school-yearIt's no secret that most folks at La Salle would like to join the A-10. Temple basketball coach John Chaney is on record as saying he thinks La Salle should be in the league. Officials at St. Joseph's have made no such public pronouncements. It would aid La Salle's chances for A-10 admission greatly if the powers that be would make a decision on the proposed expansion of Hayman Hall into a 6,000-seat basketball arena/Convocation Center. That would make a statement on La Salle's commitment for the future. Apparently, that decision has been pushed back to September as well... Paging louth?
