What's the crowd like? Sounds sizable. Student section is pretty packed. Lacking on the other side. I'll post a picture later. Free tickets aside, can't blame anyone who's not in the immediate area for not coming today. Gas, tolls, etc. are still the same price. Even if you're pretty local, the next 2 Saturdays are home games (not to mention everything after that), if you have a wife and/or kids, probably pretty tough to justify being gone all day for this. AWESOME to hear the student section is representing.

7:13 to play. 35-18 'splorers. Dunn is unconscious from 3 (4-4).
Doing what they should do. Hopefully they're up about 20 at the half.

Stukes is on the board points-wise.

Dunn hopefully not just a morale guy on the bench this year, he's making a big case for allowing Sam to heal up

1:47 until the break. 42-27 good guys. IUP actually got the better of the last couple minutes of play, but not excessively so.

Exactly - I live like 20 mins away but my kids have soccer today and my yard needed a ton of work after the wind blew seemingly every leaf in the area onto my lawn yesterday. Plus I plan on hitting the next 2 games an it's jus too damn nice to be inside all day!

Halftime. La Salle 50- IUP 28.
Big men dominated early, then Dunn took over. Stukes got a lot of minutes, but with no video, I can't really form an opinion.

Thoughts - Stukes looks to be forcing the ball, but he's everything he's been billed on defense and some. Dunn is absolute lights outs, and cool as a cucumber. Steve and Jerrell are going to be an absolute force if today is any indication. Conditioning is clearly going to be an issue for Davis but he is absolutely HUGE and something a lasalle team hasn't had in years, a lot of man. Tyrone showed some major flash on some fast breaks, Ramon-esque. Think he's taking charge with Tyreek, and he seems a little more under control this year, more calculated.

Not at all trying to attack a guy but why does it feel like it's been over 2+ years of conditioning issues for Davis. I understand he's a mammoth young man but why are we still wondering if he can go a few minutes without being winded? Feel free to delete this if worried it will go in a bad direction but more just thinking out loud not going after the kid

67-33 good guys. 12 minute Media TO.
I'm admittedly starting to zone out a little. It was awesome to have them playing again, but that novelty kind of wore off by halftime and now I'm just ready for real games to begin. Plus not being able to actually see the game hurts.

Was at the game left a little early. Really liked how the starting 5 performed, play very well together. I didn't think IUP was that bad. Dunn is the biggest surprise of the day, much more mature player. Stukes has potential but defiantly needs to red shirt. He was poor on the defensive end and could use some added weight. Wright looked great and zack wasn't far behind. Rebounding may be better. Concerned about mills and Khalid not playing the defense was hindered without mills. Hopefully once mills and khalid return that should help.
Students were great today. Was surprised to see that many there. Ton more sponsors hanging up and the court looks really nice as well.
Can't wait for Saturday!

I'll have more comments when I'm not using my mobile potato, but the place erupted when Hank Davis drilled the three. Going to be an instant fan favorite.
God it feels good that it's back.

Honestly, not much at all. I was real curious also, and if anything they got IUP once or twice with it. Curious to see if you get someone who is whistle-happy...

All in all, it was a good start. A couple observations: I think Giannini really thought he might have to use Stukes this year, but that thought may have been quelled after today. The kid clearly has some talent and good length, but he looked hesitant on offense and struggled on defense today. Nobody in that building would have thought he was better than Taylor Dunn today. Davis struggled. He really did. It is nice to have a big body, but there was some serious issues with his footing and his placement. He was all over the place, but in a bad way. I just don't see the minutes there. The team was quick, much quicker than last year when their first team was out there. You are going to see more run-outs with Garland and Duren this year than you could imagine. I think the outlet pass will be quick, the run-out quicker and the finish (or kick out three) plentiful. Earl Pettis showed up halfway through the first half, he was greeted like a conquering general by everyone he walked by. Can't imagine what it'll be like that first time Ramon shows up. Team looked good. It wasn't long ago that we might have played down to our competition but that wasn't the case here. Dunn looked great and I can see him playing a significant role this year.

Joe good piece. I enjoyed reading it. Looks like there is not much to complain about with this start (except maybe the injuries). Quite a balanced attack. I hope Stukes stays red shirted. A pleasant surprise to see Dunn step up in such a prolific way. I wonder if he shows this kind of ability to launch in practice?

A pleasant surprise to see Dunn step up in such a prolific way. I wonder if he shows this kind of ability to launch in practice? I'm sure. My worry about Dunn is this. He is a one trick pony. He had a nice drive in the second half but that was against IUP. Also, if you have him out there, it can't be with both Duren and Garland...who I think drive this team. Like G said though, he earned the minutes. I see 12-15 a game in his future unless both Mills and Lewis are back quickly.
