I'm not one to bring up old threads but I just had to post this when I saw it:
@nativeflash22: Boycotting sportscenter til this michael sam nasty ass shit is off .... My brothers are 7 and 11 and saw that!!! #SICKENING
That one is Henderson and this one followed posted by Gary Parrish of CBS Sports:
@garyparrishcbs: I bet Marshall Henderson has probably had more of a negative impact on his little brothers than any televised moment in history.

As shithead of a comment as that was by Henderson, Parrish overstepped in the other direction.

Marshall backtracked now, claiming it was part of a gay friend's psychology experiment.
What a lunatic. He wasn't even all that good.

Last summer one of my brothers in law and I tried to put together an all time white trash college basketball team. We had some disagreements but we both made Marshall Henderson the captain. The late Dwayne Schintzius (worst hair) and Kevin Pittsnogle (ugliest) were also on the club.

I don't think we reached a consensus on like a starting 5. I offered the Nelson twins from Duquesne back in the day. We agreed that Larry Bird didn't belong on the team. Yes, he was a trash talker but he was too damn good. If I am not mistaken I wanted Bob Huggins as coach and he wanted Bruce Pearl. We may have compromised and named Jim Harrick or Eddie Sutton.

Pearl is slimy but not necessarily white trash. Huggins pukes inside his own car while driving.

Yeah, they used to call Bird "the hick from French Lick" in reference to his home town of French Lick Indiana. The only time I saw Dr. J get angry was in the game where Doc had to be held back from knocking him out... dimemag.com/2009/11/dr-j-larry-bird-fight/

Contrary to what people may think, Henderson is allowed to not approve of that behavior.

Contrary to what people may think, Henderson is allowed to not approve of that behavior. He's allowed to not approve of whatever he wants, it still makes him an ignorant bigot. I don't "approve" of the moon, but it's always been around and will be long after I'm gone, and my disapproval doesn't entitle me to anything other than being wrong.

That analogy makes no sense whatsoever. And don't try equate race issues with gay rights - it's NOT the same thing. Whatever happened to, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" (Voltaire - attributed)

Look, I'm the Moderator, so I really shouldn't indulge my instincts to take things careening dangerously off-course, much as I may want to in this case. SO this will be my last comment on this:
He's allowed to say what he wants, and I'd expect nothing but forward thinking to be fostered at an institution with such a sterling track record of Civil Rights as the University of Mississippi. But bigotry is bigotry, and should be called out as such, whether someone's justification for said bigotry comes from a book full of hundreds of other moral guidelines that were long ago dismissed as anachronistic and primitive, or just comes from straight up ignorance or immaturity.
Now, back to complaining about facilities.

Whatever happened to, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" (Voltaire - attributed) The term irony is almost always misapplied but I'm pretty certain this qualifies.
