Any takers on an over/under number for average attendance at home games this season if the legit capacity is 3,200 at Gola (not 4,000 as they used to list it)?
Looking at the schedule there are a lot of home dates on Saturdays against attractive opponents which I think will really help out. Plus, I think the students will be out in full force which will really enhance the atmosphere.
Looking at it, I think the average attendance for the season could creep over 3,000 for the season. there will probably be 7 or 8 sell outs at home and then some lighter crowds for games like Hartford and Wagner where maybe there's only 2,800 on site.

The 8,722 we get to count for the Temple game will round up those December OOC games nicely . 3k+ avg for sure.

Gola Arena capacity is listed at 3,400. That number is legit. Exact number is actually 3,432.

OK - then we might creep up a little over 3,200 per game, excluding the Palestra game.
The other thing I will be intrigued by is the attendance for the Penn game at the P....could we draw 4,000 folks on a weeknight? Penn should be able to get close to 2,000 I would think.
This is all so new to me that I'm fascinated by the fact that La Salle fans could gather en masse somewhere.

Per the GoExplorers website, last years average attendence per game was 2910. I think we should get at least a 10% increase due to the Sweet 16 and that would take us to that 3200 average. My hope is the average would approach the 3400 level with the palestra game included.

I think the crowds will be good this year, and attendance will be helped by the Temple game and having only two games on campus (Wagner and GW) while school is out of session. Not sure if it will be 3,200 though. There's no reason they shouldn't be able to sell out or come close to it regularly but the alums need to come through and fill up the west side of the building. That is the key. The Penn game is Saturday January 4th at 7pm. Hopefully the students will come back for that and alums take advantage of a second Palestra game.

Speaking of the Penn game, it does not appear to be part of the season ticket package and is not on the list of single games. Can I assume that those will go on sale when Penn gets around to giving La Salle their allotment?

The Penn game is technically a road game, not sure if they put single-game tickets on sale yet but that would be one way to procure some, otherwise there will be a limited # actually sold by La Salle and most will probably go to high-level Explorer-fund types I would think.

If you can get it to work (I had multiple problems), Penn has on line ticket sales.

Penn is in a place where they usually sell tickets at a substantial group discount, even for under $12. For a few times now I have been suggesting that the message board take advantage of their special group rate. I would like to see who would make a prepaid commitment to get the discount.

If there's one thing I like more than la Salle basketball, it's my money.
