Any drastic changes if you go win percentage versus win count?

I imagine the hoops budget has increased by about 25 - 30% for the 2013-14 Season. the TV revenue and NCAA revenue are obviously driving that
Seton Hall's big # I think might be related to the rent they probably pay for the arena in Newark, Nova probably has a bit of a bump for that reason as well, but they still play most home games on campus so their spending is obviously more.
Surprised to see how much Drexel spends on hoops.

Drexel is swimming in cash. Despite that bigger budget they spent $100K less on Bruiser than what La Salle paid G. Not sure where all that budget is going to as they recruit locally as well.
No doubt La Salle's budget is going to rise. In fact I would think a higher budget numbers are in G's new deal. Perhaps better facilities as well.

Oh, if he wasn't sure, I am. They're quite okay at Drexel. If you have any question about it, take a walk around campus and count the construction sites.

Sitting behind FDU is embarrassing.

Sitting behind FDU is embarrassing. I've been up to visit the FDU program quite a few times over the past couple of years.... I can't imagine what they are spending that money on... Must be the cost of existing close to NYC.... The offices and the facilities are pedestrian.... They don't travel via charters.... I don't get it.....

I mentioned this on another thread that covered this topic recently. La Salle must have changed the way they report their numbers because 2-3 years ago, the published numbers were somewhere between $2.3 and $2.4 million. I don't think there is any way that they were spending less last year than they were a few years before that.

I agree with kjmac. The reported numbers are often a pretty vague barometer, especially when comparing public and private schools in the same conversation. It'll give you a ballpark, but cash flow is reported in creative ways for countless reasons.

I don't think La Salle gave Giannini 100k in shoes, if that's what you're implying.

I don't think La Salle gave Giannini 100k in shoes, if that's what you're implying. Not at all... Bru is with Nike... Dr. G is with Under Armour... I have no idea what the differences in the respective deal are.... Just wondering what the respective "base" salaries were for that year...

Haha don't worry, it was joke. UnderArmour, Nike, or Sketchers. If UnderArmour is giving out 100k in shoes to every coach though...

then WTF is Drexel spending all their money on?
I agree with KJ as well, a few weeks ago when we brought this up I was convinced that LS had been in the middle of the A10 pack for spending. There is no way it has decreased since then.

What happened in 2012 with the budget is almost irrelevant. We've got tournament credits coming our way.

Its relevant if those credits don't turn into future-year expenses.

As mentioned earlier, I think part of the deal with G, and perhaps why it took so long to get done, was that to him it was about more than just a salary but a commitment to the program including operating budget and facility. I'm sure we'll notice some changes this season that one could infer are related to an increased operating budget and hopefully the facility announcement won't be far off.

Just because, what was a unit worth last year? 240k, give or take? Someone did all the math, for the six year payout, including the percentage paid out to the rest of the league. Anyone remember this?

Jeeeeeeeezzzz
Imagine what it would be like to win a tourney game every year or two and what it could do for the program and all sports in general.
It becomes a self-funded operation. Hopefully the BOT wakes up when they see real dollars coming in the door because of what the program produced.
