Yes, for me I would have considered that. The supposed rule is anything outside 5 seconds you don't foul and anything inside 5 seconds you foul. I believe there was 6.7 seconds when Temple inbounded the ball but I do think it was around 5 seconds when he squared up to shoot. You gotta foul.. Blunder by Dunphy. Maybe he told the players but I didn’t hear anything from behind the bench. No hindsight needed the book says you foul. Eliminate the chance to tie. You gotta foul before they even call TO with 6 seconds. There is no set rule about seconds.. Just do what the odds tell you. The expected value of fouling Temple who was playing with their second team and were doing terrible at the line was very in favor of La Salle… You just gotta foul… Let them make both, unlikely, at that rate and then you get the ball to Brickus, who was hot and will make his 2.. Clock down to 6 seconds and they are taking the ball from under their basket… And then you foul as they are bringing the ball up… Rinse and repeat.. You are trying to reduce any small chance that they get a high percentage 3. Exchanging free throws with Brickus and who ever they want with 10 seconds is a winning equation. A day later and still very painful loss same day for me

No hindsight needed the book says you foul. Eliminate the chance to tie. Eh, it eliminates the tie on a single shot. I don't know that we're good enough rebounding, individually*, to make it a no-brainer. * Individually specified because we're pretty solid team rebounding, but Brantley + Brickus, who combined for 23 of our 59 last night, wouldn't have anything to do with a putback scenario.

Agree 100% on the foul. The odds of getting and cleanly making the putback are lower than the 3..: even with how they were shooting. At that point in the game with tired legs, foul

Lighter s ub-trivia : I like Harry Donahue ( Inside Golf, the Glenside Pub, etc. ) but I found it amusing last night that throughout the game one time down the court he would call Tunde Fas Asi, then on the next play he would refer to him as Fas Isi. Same with Jocius and Jo Dis. those of us of a certain age and raised in the Philly area will understand the flashbacks I started having hearing Donahue’s voice and wanting him to read snow numbers . Who remembers theirs? 448 for St. Andrew’s in Drexel Hill and 445 for Bonner if I’m recalling correctly.
