Those foreign bigs that played at the end of the Duke game, why don't they play more. We need more size upfront.

I noticed that Shepherd spent a whole lot of time in the corner. But he was largely ignored. Why have him there if he gets no touches?

Don’t know Dunph’s game plan on this….we were in a blowout situation…. The first one this year… we aren’t going to be blowing anybody out. As Dunph sees these guys everyday, I will trust his judgement… he may be fitting them in as the season progresses…based on their development.

We discussed this for a few minutes last night. This isn’t the first time this has happened. Pure athleticism is his game he needs to help Rokas out. Sitting outside the arc isn’t going to help us. Defensively, there were several times Gill was defending their Power Forward and predictably he just backed him down deep and laid it in. Shepherd needs to step and say let me take the hit here.. He has Gill 3-4 inches standing and 20-30 pounds of muscle.

If the offense is based on Brickus and Brantley driving inside, you don’t want everyone else hanging out there.

Since this is a question thread, my question is about scholarships. Brickus and Gill are listed as seniors but do one or both have COVID years should they choose to come back. With the two commits, how many open scholarships do we have left for next year. I suspect some guys may leave to try and find pt elsewhere but assuming everyone comes back do we have any more to give?

Technically we have given out 14 scholarships for next year if you include those two. That would put us 1 over the limit so Dunphy knows he will have someone leave the program. In this day and age of the portal coaches are wise to lock up players they want as early as they can knowing you are almost always going to lose players every year now.

Thanks for the info Explorer. I'm sure some guys will leave due to a lack of playing time. Will be interesting to see what Brickus and Gill do.
