How do you expect this to go tomorrow?

I feel like its going to somehow be all 3 to me. I don't know if that makes sense, but that's how I feel. Regardless, I'm excited to just finally have an announcement of some kind that hopefully comes with some sort of pictures and renderings that I can fixate on.

I think I'm the same. The realistic part of me will be either 1 or 2 and the part of me that's secretly holding out hope this will be instantly transformative will be 3.

I'm just happy they are doing something. Hope they have renderings.

Too lazy to figure out how to find the mock-up I did of an arena with seats only behind the baskets but that’s the ideal chaos situation.

My understanding is we will be getting phase 1 of a multiphase project...but the funds are only there for phase 1. So it is something, and maybe they will be communicating all the phases, but given it took 10 years to raise the funds for phase 1, I'm guessing we will be waiting for phase 2 for a while.

What is phase I and phase II? Phase I is the arena and phase II the pub etc…?

while i'm sure they're continuing to push for big ticket donors, now begins the grassroots campaign for more modest donations. anyone who got a formal invite to tomorrow's announcement was asked to pledge a donation specifically for the arena project.
time to buck up explorer fans. every little bit helps.

Truth. Hopefully the full plan is unveiled and potential donors can see what their asked to give money for. My biggest gripe with La Salle is they could get much more if they just shared the pan and vision to get more people on board. Hopefully Allen understands this with today's announcement.

I’m prepared to be underwhelmed. I get there are serious financial constraints, and many headwinds the school navigates into, but I just want to see something executed professionally, on par at least with some similar sized private schools.
This is *the* time for the University’s marketing admins to shine for the school. It will be how the school markets whatever the announcement and plan is that I’ll be most interested in seeing. Not only today, but in the months ahead.
I’m expecting to be disappointed on this front, as their last 20 years of marketing has been abysmal. But here is an opportunity for a pivot point for the school.

Agree with you here. They lost a lot of momentum by delaying. Donors should want to see some ability for the school to execute on plans in order to part with their money, otherwise it is just throwing good money after bad. There have been lots of "plans" over the years that never amounted to anything. I'm fairly certain this will amount to something, but I'm hesitant to open the checkbook on this until I see an ability to execute.

Dr Allen does. The guy is a fundraising shark!
