very disappointing season for the lady explorers after being picked to finish second in the league. there's been way too many non-competitive losses and just horrendous shooting (37.4% overall and 28.9% from three). they take way too many threes considering they don't shoot them well.
they're also averaging over 17 turnovers a game. only two players (molly masciantonio and fiona connolly) have a positive assist to turnover ratio which is astounding. molly's is an incredible 4.54 to 1, so that tells you how poorly the rest of the team is taking care of the ball.
hopefully mountain comes up with a new plan for the postseason because whatever it is now, it ain't working.
and unless they make a run to the a10 final, they have no shot at the wnit, currently sitting at 10th place in the league standings.

very disappointing season for the lady explorers The loss of "gimme" games at VCU and at Dayton didn't make any sense, but wins against GW, Fordham, and at St. Joe's salvaged an 8-7 record in conference. La Salle is the dreaded #8 seed and will play #9 George Mason (8-8) on Thursday, March 2 in Wilmington for the right to go up against defending champs and #1 seeded UMass (14-2) on Friday.

Good win against VCU on Senior day. The season didn’t went the way we wanted (very disappointing). But we can change that by winning the A10 tournament. Thank you for all the senior on the roster for their hard work and dedication: Let get it Lady Explorer on Thursday baby. #GoExplorer

They have a chance to win the opener but that is it. I agree a disappointing season for sure.

Just looking at the results and records, it's hard not to wonder how third place eluded us, in a very crowded A10. Losing at Dayton is unforgivable based on their 20 loss season, but they jumped on us 24-12 in the first quarter, so I assume the crowd was a factor and the weeknight travel didn't help. The covid-canceled game against Davidson would have helped get to 9-7 which could have been good enough for the 5 seed instead of the 8 seed. I'm good with getting UMass early as opposed to in the final. Maybe we'll catch them sleeping the way our ladies were caught by GW in the 1st round last year.

That's two more selections than the A10 talk (blog) gave us. The A10 talk panel placed those two, as well as Claire, in the "also received votes" category, each missing the cut for third team and all rookie team.

Disappointing year to say the least. I really thought the program was coming around. They are better than the Jeff Williams years but still have a lot of work to do.

This was a tough disappointing season for the women. Two years in a row getting bounce out early in the A10 tournament. We live by the three and die by the three. But I’m proud of this team of the hard work this season. For the senior, thank you. #GoExplorer

Stick a fork in me. I expected to win this one by 6 and we lost instead by 6. We didn't as you say "die" by the three this time, our shooting wasn't spectacular but it kept us in the game until the last 4 minutes. But, I think defense and rebounding killed us. I mean, our commitment to defense just seems to fade at critical junctures, and we let them get at least 18 offensive rebounds which was the difference in the match (aside from a slight deficit in free throws). Couple that with some whistle happy refs, calling personal fouls on blocks, Mia fouling right out of the game but that's enough excuses from me. We really should have gotten it done for the seniors today. There is a serious rebuilding now with like, 5 of the team's 6 scoring options presumably departing. The roster was built to compete this year, but we didn't get the results. Depressing.
