Between June of 1980 and January of 1981, every Philly team made it to the Championship Round. And some of the personalities from those 80's teams. The list is legendary. ...Rose, Schmidt, Luzinski, McBride, Matthews, Carlton, McGraw, Christensen, Bowa, Boone, Dallas Green and others on the Phils. Jaws, Wilbert, Bergey, Bunting, Carmichael, Herm Edwards, Hairston, Wally Henry, Peoples, Jerry Robinson, John Sciarra, along with others and Coach Vermiel Bibby, Cheeks, Collins, Dawkins, Dr J, Lionel Hollins, Bobby Jones, Caldwell Jones, and coach Billy C for the Sixers. I can list about 20 more household names for the Flyers and their Broad Street Bullies persona.. along with Fred Shero. You can add a few more from the Big Five as well.

Amazing game to watch. I wasn't hopeful after we went down 1-0, and then they just exploded.

Just going to say this: If the Phillies win the Series over the weekend, and the parade is set for Tuesday, La Salle should be allowed in the parade if they beat Villanova Monday Night.

Won't be a parade on Tuesday - Election Day. If the Phillies win Saturday, my guess is Monday. Sunday win and it's probably Wednesday.

Just have La Salle in the parade whenever it is then. And if the Astros win just throw La Salle it’s own parade.

The past month was the absolute best despite not winning the WS or the MLS Cup. I went to one of the NLCS games and it was absolutely electric.
I would imagine there were a good amount of people around the country who saw the atmosphere at CBP and around the city and are thinking about moving here. I doubt there is anywhere else as fun in the country to live in, especially when our sports teams are doing well.

Hope you got to see at least some of last night's Sixers 115 - 106 beat down of the anemic, listless Kevin Durant / Kyrie Irving / Ben Simmons / Kyle Lowry / Seth Curry - led Brooklyn Nets. Without the availability of Joel Embiid, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers ( Tobias Harris, Montrezl Harrell, Paul Reed, P.J. Tucker, De Anthony Melton, George " Minivan " Niang, Shake Milton and Furkan Korkmaz ) put on a veritable clinic. Ben Simmons and the Nets' loser energy were no match for a Sixers team that taught its injured stars a lessonwww.inquirer.com/sixers//sixers-injuries-ben-simmons-return-20221123.html?

the Giants fans on here have been awfully quiet today... What are you expecting us to say? It’s not like anyone was talking trash before the game. The Giants are at the beginning of a long rebuild. Their record is a little better than I expected it to be this year at this point and I’d like them to make the playoffs just because they’re in a decent position to do so, but they still need to change nearly the entire roster over. If you combined the rosters of the Giants and Eagles at this moment, how many guys on the Giants would be starters, 5? (Barkley, Andrew Thomas, maybe Dexter Lawrence and one or two others, but it’s a short list). The Giants had an absolute buffoon at the helm the last 5-6 years who set the franchise back probably a decade or more. It’s going to take a long time for the Giants to get back to being in the same class as the Eagles and Cowboys. And with that, I’m off to kill myself.

Metlife was cold and rainy. We didn't get to our seats until it was 21-0. I say it every year, it's a race with FedEx Field for the worst stadium in the NFL.
The Giants are leaking oil, big time. Playing for a tie vs. Washington was a horrible decision. Get the fucking 3 yards on 4th and 3, and win the game. You made your bones about this season going for 2 against the Titans... now we're going to get conservative? Just like Judge and Shurmur.
I'd like to make the playoffs and knock off the Bucs or Niners, than beat the Vikings... but it's a tall task. We need to upgrade at QB... somebody that can win the game and not just be a game manager. I have a feeling that Carson Wentz will be starting in East Rutherford next year. Just a hunch.
The Eagles are good. Alot of things coming together this year. A soft schedule, some favorable officials, QBs such as Cousins, Murray, and Lawrence that gifted them games. However, good teams take advantage of those breaks, and the Eagles are good.
The Eagles are a trash organization with a clown for an owner, a clown for a GM, and a fanboy for a headcoach. Fanboys across the board. As a guy that works (not so much since Covid) security for them, I could tell you stories. Teams like the Giants, Packers. Steelers, traditional teams know how to win and lose in the NFL.
When the Birds pay Hurts 50 million annually, he will be the next Dak. They will come back to Earth. They are going to have to pay Jalen and it will be back to reality.

I enjoyed your post. I am still recovering from first round playoff losses from the early Andy / Donovan teams. Hope we don't see a rerun 2 decades later.

To be honest I feel the exact opposite way. I hate the Eagles more than any other team (Red Sox, Cowboys, Nets coming next but a significant drop-off) but I find the Eagles to be a (maddeningly) well run and consistent franchise. Even their down periods seem to be mostly transitional, and they’re back up at the top of the standings pretty quick
