Hi guys. This is Frank Possinger It may be a bit late as you may already have voted for the new Alumni Board. In the event that you have not I kindly ask for your vote. My profile is available on the website. I think some of you may have come to know me a bit more through this site. Aside from general participation in the board I want to build on our presence in the Chicago area as it ties into Loyola in the A10. As Fran indicated in his announcement this will take all of us. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Go Explorers

Don't mean to co-opt a worthwhile thread for my own benefit...this seemed like the best place for this question.
Does anyone know how to actually get on the Alumni email/mailing list? I didn't even know board elections were happening. Somewhere along the way I stopped getting digital communications from La Salle and I've tried a few times to get back on to the list with no luck. I do still occasionally get something by mail, but very infrequently. I haven't seen the La Salle Magazine in years (maybe they don't do it anymore?), I didn't get the email a lot of folks got announcing the arena plans/firing/etc, and I certainly didn't get anything about the board elections.

Need to bring the magazine back! Agree. When Colleen came to an Alumni Board meeting and told us this decision, I was against it. I pointed out that the printed magazine was a channel not only to engage with alums, but also provided a way to expose La Salle to people. For example, I keep this magazine on my coffee table and my kids see it...their friends see it when they come to the house. Maybe it creates some awareness for people who might otherwise not be exposed to La Salle. It's advertising as much as alumni engagement. Her response was that it costs money and people don't read it. I would read it cover to cover.

If a dozen of your kids' friends weren't going to La Salle until they saw the magazine on your coffee table, it would pay for itself and then some.

And then she extends Ash's contract. Just like cutting energy independence and spending on BBB BS billions on friends and freneimes' crazy get rich programs that we will subsidize.

Great move. I was delighted to see the Mag arrive in the mail today. We still get the one from my wife's school, as well as my father in law's who went to another A10 institution. It is essential to reach all levels of the alums as a significant enough percentage of them should know somebody who's applying to La Salle. We can help make an impression on people and are more likely to do so if there is a continuous communication from the university about recent developments. The worst idea ever was when they suspended the mailing to save money, and I don't remember them ever asking our opinion on the matter through any kind of formal survey. I hope this isn't just a one off issue for the new president feature, but a sign that common sense has prevailed.
