I really like the way the staff went about methodically and carefully building this year’s class. Here’s a few reasons why I like it:
1) high level talent; no stretches or question marks; these guys can play and have proven abilities
2) we basically covered every position and
3) we provided depth where we needed to
4) there is now much better balance positionally across the lineup
5) our positional balance includes a better mix of youth and experience than we’ve had in years
I think Moore can provide rim protection we needed and I hope we can get a hardship waiver so he can play right away; that would be a big plus to improve in the A10 standings and increase our chances of landing talented recruiting classes going forward
If you consider that Clark could/should be granted a medical redshirt, you have five players who could take the floor at the same time for four years and elevate this program, especially if we can continue to add strength and talent around that group.

Why all the concern about a "rim protection"? Croswell and Kimbrough performed adequately in their first year protecting the rim, and will only improve next year. Incoming freshman Brandon Stone at 6'10" is expected to add some depth to it as well. Team shot piss poor last year. That's where we need to see improvement. Hopefully with a healthy Jack Clark seeing some minutes, along with Ray and Kenney, we'll see some progress made in the shooting department in '19-20

Don't forget about Scott Spencer. Healthy back and ready to play. I wouldn't give too much credence to his freshman year numbers at Clemson while playing through injury and minimal playing time. He was highly recruited out of high school and could play a bigger role than we are expecting.

Prep/AAU sample size much larger than sample size at Clemson... Boy maybe I should reconsider the '2 players away' bit, maybe it is one material low post presence. If we are going to challenge for postseason, we need depth in the low post.. All competitive sides have it.. Next year should see some high scoring games and entertaining basketball.. Program is unquestionably moving up at an important time.. School admin did a masterful job pulling this major upgrade off.. The A-10 should be pretty tough at the top next year.. Improved from this year anyways...

Lots of points in the paint by the opposing teams on turning the corner and driving, and lots of back-door cuts with no help defense. Fix that and we can do a lot better.

I think our lane protection was as bad it was because we didn't have the size inside. If I recall correctly I'm pretty sure we were one of the better perimeter defensive teams.
You add Spencer, Stone, and Kenney who are all 6'5 and taller. Plus Christian Ray a good size for a SG on top of Crowell and Kimborough. We definitely should be improved especially in the paint. Just gonna be a little bit of adjustment until everyone clicks and gets comfortable with their role.

Lane protection has been a problem for years. Quickness and size helps.
