MY MAN!!! Known him since high school, super excited.
And you guys want local recruiting, he went to Carroll, and I'm pretty sure he was good friends with the O'Hara trio, Annie Gallagher, Chrissie Donahue and Marnie McBreen, that played at La Salle in the mid-90s.

Quinnipiac is one of the best women's mod-major teams. Sounds good!
I was friends with Annie Gallagher. Didn't keep in touch but she was an awesome person.

If you are on Twitter look at the La Salle athletics handle - and then check out what Cheryl Reeves had to say/replied to the announcement. Very interesting.

Yeah I just saw it. She's disappointed we haven't hired a Female Basketball coach since the '70's. She's not wrong there I suppose. I did resist the urge to give her the "La Salle" treatment since she dropped the space.

FYI.
I agree. Not passionately, but there were interested women. We’ll see how it plays out I guess.

Yeah it's tough, because it's obviously not a good track record, but you also can't go into one individual hire saying "We have to hire a woman here because we haven't previously."

Chris Day hired as Assoc. Head coach. Was HC at Vermont last 2 years. Has Philly ties as well, and has 5 kids. Right now the WBB is looking at 14 attendees at every game. Attendance is going to be hitting record Highs. But in all honesty, looks like a good hire with some experience.

Chris is a really good dude. Knew both of them well back then and played some ball with them.

Hit me again Dept.
Former Lady Explorers 5'-11" guard Adreanna Miller ( daughter of former Villanova standout Lance Miller ) has transferred to Ohio State. Although listed as a Dean's List junior on this past season's roster, Adreanna graduated in 3 years from La Salle last week and has one more year of eligibility which means she can play immediately at Ohio State as a graduate student transfer. Adreanna rotated as a starting guard this past year with Amy Griffin ( who has now graduated ) and Shaquana Edwards ( who has transferred to Quinnipiac ).

Not sure losing any player from the program is a big deal at this point.

Not sure losing any player from the program is a big deal at this point. Put another way, as in, providing any context to that comment at all, you needed to say we have a good prospect for next year to improve on last year's 8-total wins, but realistically, you probably expect that moving up in the A10 is going to be a three-year process.

I have no idea what the scholarship situation is, but my guess is that the new coach will go local as he is a local guy and the area is a hotbed for women's basketball ability. A couple PCL/Catholic Academy/Suburban 1 grads without A10-level offers will probably yield better more consistent results then what was on the court for a decade.

Importantly, new La Salle WBB head coach Mountain MacGillvray has retained Dalila Eshe as an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. Ms. Eshe is credited with recruiting La Salle's four highly-rated incoming 2018-19 freshmen, including 4-star recruit 6'-1" PF Makayla Pippin from Severn, MD.
Coach MacGillvray has also hired former Quinnipiac University and MAAC all-star point guard Gillian " Boo " Abshire as an Assistant Coach. Ms. Abshire graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2015, played professional womens basketball in Denmark for 2 years ( 2015 - 16, 2016 - 17 ), and was a WBB graduate assistant this past year ( 2017 - 18 ) at VCU while earning her Masters Degree in Sports leadership and administration.
It would appear that the recent departures of guards Shaquana Edwards and Adreanna Miller has opened up 2 scholarships that are now available for La Salle to sign two additional freshmen or more experienced transfer players.
