I'm sorry an interview with one of the greatest basketball players in La Salle history doesn't meet your standards for posting on a La Salle basketball message forum. I'll delete and make way for threads with personal insults again, immediately. This board is brutal

Nah, this belongs here. Absolutely no problem with it. Come on hykos.
Only thing I would've suggested is to make clear it's a current interview- thought maybe it was something from an archive or something back when the merger originally happened. But it's a good find- thanks.

I am really sorry! I saw "ABA" and I should have read the context, which is most appropriate for this forum. I make no excuses for my reaction, will try and learn from it.

Thanks for the link, BP. The way I read it, the NBA assumed ABA debts but if they get anything at all out of this negotiation 50 years later it'll be a gesture of further goodwill but not obligatory.
It is a shame that Mr Cannon feels the players only lacked representation, because they did not necessarily even have the funds nor the organization to be able to leverage themselves back then. There is no way they would have bargaining power, I do not know what their leverage would be. The power of Public Relations is all they have left in order to leverage their cause. I appreciate the standpoint of the individual player being owed something for help in revolutionizing the game, especially now if NBA now wants to celebrate these achievements with anniversary specials, throwback jerseys, ABA nights, and whatever else they will do to capitalize ($$$) on the ABA's unique history.
