And if Miles really improves this year, what are the odds that he never sees 20th & Olney

Miles' Mater Dei team is ranked #9 nationally in USA Today's HS pre-season rankings.

Can I just say how much I dig Miles's glasses? He's got a real "basketball player in the 1950's" vibe going on.

It's not like the bookstore is ever open during games

Just love that Miles, Jamir, and Dajour all appear to be genuinely excited about coming to La Salle. They've all connected on Twitter and congratulated each other on their commitments. Great to see the chemistry has started already.
Also love the La Salle Under Armour hat that Miles wore during Mater Dei's signing ceremony on Wednesday. I wonder where I could find one of them. Anybody been to the new Under Armour store downtown yet? They supposedly started stocking some La Salle stuff but want to know for sure before I make a trip there.

Don't bother with the UA store. It looks and feels like a loss leader for them (like they just want the visibility and any sales are a bonus). They have 2 la salle Ts in stock and they aren't out on display (they have to have someone grab them from the back). They have the jersey in the window, which looks cool and is good to see, but it's not actually something for sale. Everything in the store is very expensive. It's impossible to justify buying anything UA at full price due to the price tag. Great folks working in there, though.

Why bother stocking them if no one knows they're there. I've been to the UA store at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. You are right about the pricing. I believe there are UA outlets in Limerick and in Gloucester, NJ but I've never been to them. Heard you can get some decent deals there, but there's no way they'd bother carrying any La Salle stuff at either place if they don't bother displaying it in the downtown store.

I'd still kill for a chance to buy a gold jersey anywhere. I'll pay full price + premium for that.

Am I reading too much into this quote, or does it seem like G is already planning on redshirting Miles??
From the release - "We will develop him his first year and then expect him to be a key player for us."

If Miles play next year instead of redshirting, it would give us 4 guys over 6'8". Don't think I remember any La Salle team with that much height.

Jerrell, Terrell, Aaric, Steve Weingarten, Devon White and (i think a redshirting- Matt Lopez) Now if you want to talk about us having 4 talented bigs of 6'8.....

Operative word in my comment was "over" 6'8". Weren't the twins, Steve, and Devon all 6'8" ?

As of 2/1/17 Mater Dei is 23-1 and ranked #10 in the country. Miles Brookins had 16 points in their last game. He does appear to be one of their top players.

I was listening to Boomer and Carton last week when Carton started to rip on young Bol. He said "how much should a 7 foot son of an NBA player be averaging for points, rebounds and blocks in JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL?" Carton was making fun because he thought the numbers were too light. The dumb ass doesn't realize he's a junior IN High School. Playing for one of the top programs in the country.

You should never listen to Boomer and Carton for any length of time for any reason whatsoever, so that was your first mistake.

The glass is still way more than half full Dept. :
While 2018 recruit Osun Osunniyi's opting to transfer out is certainly a disappointment, let us all not forget that the good news for our new head coach Ash Howard and for the rest of us long suffering Explorer fans is that promising 6'-10" sophomore-to-be Miles Brookins is coming off of an impressive, much better than anyone dared hope showing his freshman year, during which his playing time ( due to Demetrius Henry's sudden departure and Tony Washington's continual proneness to early foul trouble ) was substantially greater than most freshman 4 / 5's in the A-10 typically get to experience. Should Miles' weight training, body strength, timing, positioning and footwork continue to develop and improve as expected under our new coaching staff, we may very well discover that we already have on our team the answer to our needs at the center position for the next 3 years.

Gee, and here my intention in doing so was to talk everyone down off of the Osun window ledges and assuage everyone's fears ! Further evidence that no good deed goes unpunished.

The pep talk was nice, but I have to admit when I saw the title of the thread resurrected to the top of the board, the only thing I could think was "Oh ****, Miles is transferring."
