Lots of new talent on the floor this year. Exciting stuff.
Yevgen
"The NCAA has required Yevgen to serve a year in residence before beginning three years of eligibility. He is a strong, versatile player with vast experience playing at the highest level of international competition in his age group. I have great confidence in him. He will improve his skills and strength this year. He will continue our success following the graduation of Jerrell and Steve."
Johnnie
"Johnnie has fit into our team immediately, successfully competing against older teammates with confidence, toughness and skill. He will be a player who meets challenges and comes through in big moments. We love his mentality and believe he will be a great asset to us."
Amar
"Amar is a winner who has greatly benefited from his redshirt year. He is an outstanding defender. Offensively, his ability to penetrate defenses and unselfishly find open teammates makes people around him better. We are excited to see Amar add to La Salle’s history of great Philly guards."
Tony
"After gaining significant strength last year, Tony is ahead of schedule for being a major contributor. Our original plan was for Tony to gain experience behind Steve and Jerrell to help our depth and team this year. However, he is often competing on an equal level with Steve and Jerrell already. Tony should become a coveted, productive big man which is hard to find."
Jordan
"Jordan is a very talented offensive player who can really score. However, he understands the importance of defense and passing and has successfully focused on becoming an outstanding all-around player. We have really challenged Jordan to make personal improvements in a lot of areas and he has responded well. Rather than having high potential we expect to see high performance."
Cleon
"Cleon has impressed me with tremendous length, quickness and anticipation that can make him a high-level defender. Offensively, he can shoot and slash so he is the type of versatile, big guard we like. If he plays with consistent focus and toughness, his outstanding defensive attributes alone will help us win."
