I wouldn't mind seeing Timmy as a top assistant with Coach G for a couple seasons before G moves on. Let's face it, he's not going to be here forever.

Do you think he'd make more at ESPN or as an assistant at La Salle?

I'm sure the money is better at ESPN, but I also don't think Legler is a guy that would necessarily take a job for the money at this point in his life and I think he has a true loyalty and appreciation to the Big 5 and La Salle and it could be a way to get him involved. I would also be surprised if he were able to land a head coaching job at anything other than a low-level D1 school with no experience in the college ranks and I have to think that an assistant at La Salle has to be better than a Head gig at UTEP (I only mention UTEP b/c he does in his interview), but who knows.

if we can get back to the tournament the next year or two and make another run - would it be surprising at all if other, bigger schools dial G's number and steal him away? thereby opening the door for the Legler father-son tandem here?

La Salle does have millions coming into the program over the next 6 years.... Give Legs a 4/5 yr deal worth 400k per... I think he would take.. ESPN doesn't compensate as much as people think... ESPN can pretty much recruit who they want and make the next star... At least our kids will know how to shoot from the perimeter now.. Plus you can still allow Legs to do part time ESPN appearances in Conn., I mean coaches aren't doing that much right now... Recruiting yes always... Mainly done over the phone plus it is great PR...

Another "run" is highly unlikely, but getting back to the tournament one of the next 2 seasons isn't out of the question - this season (given the senior big men and quality transfers) is probably the more likely scenario to hope for.

Didn't Stephen A cover the NBA from Philly for a while on ESPN. Couldn't Legs do the same and be a part-timer/shooting coach?

For those that want Legler to be a "shooting consultant", he is coaching his son's AAU team and somehow I don't think the NCAA allows for him to be an AAU coach as well as work with a college team. I could be wrong but I am sure someone will have the answer.

I am really not sure how good he is but I know he is supposedly very good from the arc. So when his son leaves for school perhaps we can grab him and his son. I am really curious to see how his son progresses. Critical period for him now that scouts are beginning to take a look at the 2017 class. The kid comes from some good genes so we shall see.

I've seen Legler's AAU team a few times, and they maybe have one A-10 level prospect at this point, a 2017 guard named Myles Cale. A few other solid D-I prospects, but nobody in the mid-high range yet. And Ryan Legler isn't even close, I don't think he's a D-I prospect at this time (though obviously he's very young). But I wouldn't count on him making it to La Salle as anything but a walk-on. Again, plenty could change, but it's not like he's a stud sophomore or anything.

Yea, I had absolutely no idea and more or less was taking a shot in the dark. I expected he wasn't some D-1 prospect. However, you just never know because he is still young. I don't think anyones expectations are that Legler is even to come at this point in time let alone his son.
