Certainly not a "splashy" hire, that's for sure. I respect Neal, seems like a nice guy. While I certainly appreciate his contributions to the program, I was never a huge fan of him as a player, and I suppose that's contributing to me being underwhelmed by his hiring as asst. coach. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong..

Saw lot of games live the last three years and thought Sean was the most engaged guy on the bench other than G. Wish him good luck and godspeed to sprout wings and take this program up. Sometimes guys take a back seat to and defer to guys many years his senior, like Harris. Look forward to Sean stepping up as the first assistant who has worn blue and gold on the hardwood. Make G (and us) proud!

Felt like one of Neal's biggest responsibilities last year was "guy who grabs G to keep him from getting a technical"

I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on this but as Director of Operation, what could Sean Neal do, if any, in terms of recruiting? Was he able to attend AAU events and just not speak with recruits?
Thanks.

DOBOs can not recruit.... A basketball coach can have 3 assistants who can recruit and that is it...
In Auburn's case, Bruce was going to have his son, Steve, be an assistant until the NCAA came forward and frowned upon it, believing that is circumiventing the "show clause" penalty that Pearl has.. So now Steve is in an assistant strength and conditioning coach... It created an extra spot for promotion...

Anyone see this team get dissected by Kentucky yesterday? They put up NBA numbers against them in the game, 110 pts, 44 rbds, 22-24 in the paint. May be the best team I've ever seen. Also curious if the inroads in the south that Adler made still exist for this team. We may need to wait for the next round of recruits to see.
Glad we have price here with an opportunity to lead our team. Also glad for him that he isn't losing games by 30+ but KY is historically good and shouldn't lose a game all year. They can really do it all, and execute well.
