I was flicking around and found the Sixers. To my shock they are up 55-40 with 5:00 left in 2nd perios. If they hold on will the fans rush the court like in college? Holy crap.

What possible reason could they have to win a game at this point?

Isn't tonight the record or something? Maybe that has something to do with it? At some point they must not want to feel like the Washington Generals. Detroit looks like the would rather be anywhere but here. Totally disinterested.
I'm hooked. Let's start a thread.

Up 19 at half. I am amazed at the crowd. What are they giving away? They can't be there to watch the Sixers and Pistons.

Me too.
End of 3rd Quarter. Sixers 98. Pistons 68.
All you need to know is Detroit has allowed/gift wrapped 98 points in three quarters.

Detroit must be saving their A game for that showdown with the Bucks on Monday

It's all over. The streak is over. Big Mac's for everyone. 123-98.

Feel bad for the guys who have been playing lately. Not their fault, it's just not an NBA line-up they've been running out there every night. Knew they'd get a win sooner or later though. Wouldn't finish on a 30+ game losing streak or whatever.
I'm a New Yorker, but I always like to see the Sixers do well. They seem to be the ugly step-child of Philly pro teams, so I generally pull for them. Plus their uniforms and court are an absolute thing of beauty.

Plus their uniforms and court are an absolute thing of beauty. best re-branding/retro-return or whatever you want to call it. Getting to view that court alone is worth admission.

Should have changed back the day they traded Iverson to Denver. Those black ones were pretty ugly, but did sort of fit with the "Iverson Era." Would be tough to picture him in the traditional red, white, and blue. But once he was gone, they should have gone right back. I'd like to see them bust out the late '70's ones as an alternate with the Disco style font and big stars on the sides of the jersey.

Totally with you on the blacks matching the Iverson Era. When they recently retired his number, they raised it in the current jersey scheme and it just didn't seem right. Those god awful black jerseys just matched that era perfectly.
Those late 70s jerseys with the stars running up each side have always been a favorite, even with that self-described "art-deco" font they used. I'd have been happy with anything as long as it wasn't the Barkley era jerseys with the stars on the chest.
