Happy 151st Anniversary to our beloved alma mater.
Happy 60th Anniversary to the 1954 NCAA Champion La Salle Explorers (to my knowledge, there was no official commemoration of the anniversary this year - a little disappointing).
A year ago tonight - the first of three NCAA tournament victories in five days.
Above Explorers valiant Here under thine eyes Thy blue and gold banners Unfurl 'neath the skies
La Salle, La Salle, thy glory Thy triumphs we praise, Thy name in song forever Shall we proudly raise.
Thy sons and daughters standing Await thy command Thou fortress of faith in Our God and our land.
La Salle, La Salle, thy glory Thy triumphs we praise. Thy name in song forever Shall we proudly raise!

Hopefully everyone has been made aware that today is also being promoted by the University as the Lasallian Day of Giving. An alum has offered to match $10,000.00 of donations if raised today on Charter Day. If you haven't yet done so, I urge you to dig a little and give something today to help achieve the goal. Easy to do and the link is below. Let's get it! Lasallian Day Of Giving

Final numbers - 862 alumni, parents, and friends donated nearly $78,000 in a 24 hour period. Much praise to the Office of Advancement for their efforts and passion to help bring the opportunity of the La Sallian experience to current and future Explorers.
Plus, it's not bad being part of such a generous and passionate community.

Goes to show you, with the right creativity and leadership, La Salle could really do well in terms of alumni giving.

Maybe we should run a promotion like that every day!

Maybe we should run a promotion like that every day! Every day for 5 years if we want to speed up the new Tom Gola Centre... a 5,800 seat arena in the shape of a pyramid with state of the art Ken Durrett weight training area with a Brother Patrick Ellis food and nutrition kitchen and dining for students geared for student-athletes to maximize athletic performance. Inside the seating area you have the Lionel Simmons court and the Michael Brooks luxury suites for corporations. Of course we need a statue of Tom Gola outside the arena hoisting the NCAA trophy.

We did it! We doubled our “320 on 3.20” goal and then some! Yesterday was a spectacular display of what it truly means to be Lasallian. I am always proud to be a member of the La Salle University community, but the sense of pride I experienced watching so many unite to Spring La Salle Forward was immeasurable, and I'm privileged to be included among you as an Explorer.
The first-ever Lasallian Day of Giving was a rousing success. Loyal alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and students enthusiastically and generously stepped up to create countless opportunities for future Explorers and the bright future of this institution. In 24 hours, we were able to raise more than $77,700 from 868 donors—a tremendous achievement.
3.20.14 was a great day to be an Explorer—not only was it incredibly fun and gratifying to see our community unite around a common goal, but the Day of Giving will also have a lasting impact on the lives of our students.
Thank you for your loyalty to La Salle University!
Brother Michael J. McGinniss, F.S.C. President
