Aaric hate aside, if the tournament champ is ineligible the auto-bid should be lost. Talk about watering down the product, no .540 team playing in the SWAC should be earn a bid unless you win the conference tournament.

So no more than 23 for at-larges In reality, only seven of them are truly bid stealers. Manhattan took Iona's bid and Mercer took FGCU's bid, but both would have gotten NIT at-large bids anyway. The seven true bid stealers so far are Coastal Carolina, Milwaukee, Mount St Mary, Eastern Kentucky, American, Wofford, and the America East tournament champ (either Stony Brook or Albany). That leaves 8 more one-bid leagues still waiting to crown their tournament champ.
