Looking at stats, it dawned on me that prior to the sju(pa) game, he played virtually the same number of minutes as last year ( 670 this year versus 662 last year). Nice time to compare. I will give side by side with last year first.
FG 128-308/99-290 (-29 for -18) a lot less made field goals but a fair number of less shots too.
3FG 28-98/23-101 (-5 for +3) a few less made on only 3 more shots.
So for all the angst about his shooting, he's not much different. Would expect him to try to be firing up more. Maybe he realizes he's in a slump and not shooting as much as you would expect?
FT 69-95/90-120 (+21 for +25) getting to line more.
OR DR TR 18+38=56/7+44=51 (-11 +6 -5) For all G's harping about guards not rebounding Garland at least trying on defensive boards. No one expected him to contribute rebounding wise like Galloway did.
PF 52/36 (-16) a good thing? maybe maybe not?
A/TO 55-38/56-33 (+1 and -5) a good thing slightly. At least those 5 less TO's make up for a few bad shots.
Blocks 1/5 (+4) maybe a meaningless stat but I find it interesting.
Steals 32/16 (-16) the most surprising stat. Half of last season?
PTS 353/311 (-42) comes to about -1.8 from last season.
