Yep, Mik was being somewhat critical of the team's play and some posters let him know they didn't like that. I don't blame him one bit for taking a reprieve from the board. It's a shame because he brings a lot to the discussion.

Duren I will have to disagree with you regarding the players in that I don't see any of them as super talented but as good players who struggle mightly at times with their shooting. Duren pound for pound is our best player and Zack is our most improved. All things said they are an above average group and their record reflects this with 71 wins for senior group with a chance at reaching 80 before they finish for a four year average of 20 wins per season. Not to shabby and I believe winning seasons will continue for the forseeable future.

It's a shame because he brings a lot to the discussion. Um, no. If you read the thread, the poster(s) called him out not because he was "critical of the team's play" (there was plenty of that). Some took issue with a somewhat over the top pronouncement of the game being "over" with a 10 point half time deficit. Not to beat a dead horse to death, but, to echo KJMac's sentiments on this thread, it is not the criticism of poor play that is objectionable, it is the hyperbole of calling a game "over" at half time or constantly referencing losses as "embarrassing" and proclaiming that the team is "not trying" or has "given up." Look, no one is doubting your or Mik's passion and loyalty. It is just that when the comments go so far over the top it annoys some and you get called out on it. By the way, I don't know who Mik is but I would be stunned if that little exchange caused him to boycott the Board. Maybe he is just taking a break. Oh, and Steve, you calling ANYONE "looney tunes" is abso-freaking-lutely priceless.

Me thinks people our to sensitive at times. Mik has been a great supporter of the program as have some others and if he wants to critique it is no big deal. As long as we don't personally attack the kids in a vicious or serious manner it is not a problem. Who hasn't been upset at times because of what players have done or how they performed. We are not getting upset so much with player but more because we are competitive by nature and want to see our team win. We are all guilty to varying degrees.

The problem, atleast on my side, is some people tend to be very "we won" or "they lost".

Had a couple of days to think of the GW game and want to apologize for maybe going a little to far criticizing the players. I usually have a positive outlook on the team and our players but frustration set in as a fan.
The game on Wednesday shouldn't have surprised any one. After the heartbreaking loss to VCU, we should have expected a let down. Losing to VCU really took all the wind out of their sail and I think you witnessed a team down on themselves (against GW). Lets face it, the VCU game was our season. Not saying it's all over because we lost, but imagine if we would have won. The confidence it would have given the players, coaches and team. Lets not forget how well we played against a team that could easily be top 25 in the country.
And not for nothing, but GW did not impress me. If they are a tournament team, we have every right to think we are as well. I did not come away Wednesday saying they beat us more than 50% of time. We just haven't gotten the breaks this year.
I hope to see the team bounce back and finish the year strong. This is the one year I feel confident in them doing work in the a10 tournament. Not saying they're going to win. But I would be surprised not to see them in the semifinals. I'm proud of this team and the coaches. They have fought hard. I know our program is in the right direction with G as the coach. People may question his in game strategies but no one can question the job he has done putting La Salle on the map. I'm a 08 graduate and during my 4 years I cant remember 1 game being on ESPN. This year feels like there's one every week. He's doing his job. Let's remember to support him and the players every chance we get!

Maybe I'm disappointed because last year set unrealistic and lofty expectations... La Salle's opponents have had the 27th ranked adjusted offense this year and the 34th best adjusted defense according to Pomeroy. That's shaping up to be the 25th rank SOS. I'm guilty of overlooking that this year.
