Don't know if its to early for this but trying to get a plan for Temple game. I am going with a large group and we were planning on taking train to 30th street around 8:45am. How far is the walk to the palestra from there? Is there going to be a bar open around the palestra that early? I want to check out gameday for a little so the closer to palestra the better.
If we can take care of business the next two games that place should be rocking in our favor.

Breds, you're looking at about 5-6 block walk. Easiest way, west on market to 33rd Street through Drexel's campus (DAC is at 33/34 Mkt), and then swing a left on 33rd going south to the Palestra which will be on the left.
Hearing fans can get into the Palestra prior to 10a, when the Gameday show is set to start. Not sure of specifics other than when the show is going live.
As for bars, my best guess for anything at the time would be the New Deck Tavern, 34/Sansom, due the huge Big 5 history thing they're very proud of. No guarantees, but if anyone opened up for a Big 5 matchup, I'd guess it'd be them.

Hello all
Fans can get in the door with a game ticket beginning at 8 AM on Saturday. The GameDay crew will be doing live SportsCenter hits beginning at 9 AM and GameDay begins at 10 on ESPNU and continues at 11 on ESPN. We're working on some promotions and contests to keep people interested from 8-10 and during commercial breaks.
Let me know any questions regarding the day. Should be a memorable experience.
Thanks. Kevin

Not sure if you're a student or alum but regardless please tell me you know where the Palestra is. The entire time I was writing directions, part of me thought I may have fallen for a sick joke. Say it ain't so.

La Salle sent email today that if you are a season ticket holder you can either have them by email or pick up at ticket office before URI game.

Not to nit pick but the e-mail said you can have them [mailed] to your address or pick up at the ticket office on Wednesday. Not sure how they can e-mail tickets to you.

We live in a world where someone is asking for almost $200 for a La Salle basketball ticket. I doubt they'll get that but man I am pumped.
URI should be a blast, too. The team is picking up some serious steam and the students are finally back.
VCU is the Saturday after that.

Sorry it was a typo however I did get an email file from Penn once and printed the tickets so it is possible. La Salle however doesn't scan tickets yet.

Kegs and Eggs at New Deck tavern starts at 9am. New deck website says opens at 8am. Maybe I am getting old but the kegs and eggs thing sounds absolutely gross. I can't think of any breakfast items that would go well with beer with the exception of bacon, which goes well with anything.

Beer and a greasy bacon egg and cheese would be what's up.
I'll just be glad to have an excuse to drink at 8:00AM that's different than my usual, which is "It's the only way I can face the prospect of being me all day."

If anyone is still trying to buy tickets - you can call up the temple ticket office at 215-204-8499. I just scored two for $33.

I am confused or did not pay attention. Was the Temple game part of season tix package?
