The only truly dumb plays I remember we're Khalid's fast break and Garland's shot clock violation. I misse the first few minutes of the game but those two were bad.
They are fine. Anyone who says they play "street ball" is wrong. I don't know how many high screens there are in street ball. I don't know how many people in street ball work the ball around to get a good angle to pass it into the post or set back picks to get an open look in the corner.
What, do you think G just rolls the ball out at practice? Or once the guys take the court they just collectively decide to break plays and do whatever they want?
Once Duren can drive and finish like he can they will be a lot better. JW and Steve killed it today. And they are getting very consistent in doing so.

You're right, I'm wrong......it's a complete fabrication that the Atlantic 10 pre-season coaches poll picked La Salle to finish 3rd THIS year, based upon the fact they had the majority of an experienced roster coming back. It's ALL POSITIVE and WONDERFUL! I think you need to eat a Snickers bar. You're not yourself when you're hungry.

Posted by calsufan 16 minutes ago Come on. When is a win ever lousy? Maybe you could say they looked bad winning, but the win isn't lousy. And stony Brook is a solid team believe it or not. Get your facts straight.
Of course there's such a thing as a "lousy win." If the 76ers beat a high school team by 8 points, that's a LOUSY WIN. If an Atlantic 10 team that has the bulk of their NCAA "Sweet 16" team back for another year beats a team from the America East Conference (with "juggernaut" programs like Albany, Maine, University of Maryland at Baltimore County....) by less than 25 points - looks completely disorganized doing it -...................that's a LOUSY WIN. A "solid program" in the America East is NOT the same as Virginia Commonwealth, St. Louis, George Mason, .... it's a program you SHOULD be able to beat by 20+ even on your WORST day.
You live up to your name. That and you're crazy. Learn a little about Stony Brook first before you lament that we didn't win by 25 points. How many games are won by 25 points against a GOOD team? Get a frigging clue.

It's ALL POSITIVE and WONDERFUL! Not a single person is saying things are wonderful this year. They're underperforming. Listening to you though you'd think they're heading for a negative win season. It's not possible of course, but it appears you'd be very happy with that outcome. Lighten up a little.

Stony Brook coming off two solid NIT seasons and blew out UMass in NIT at Amherst last year. A capable team and a good win for us.

I am very happy with this win. This was one of my nail-biter games before the season. Even more sweet now since we have been struggling. This was a tale of two halves. First we couldn't make a shot and could get a stop on defense. Second half we were a completely different club. Let's hope that improvement is something we can build on.
I am pleased that the big guys came on strong especially in the second half. There was been much "discussion" about us playing the game through the big guys. There is an answer for that. We have had a height advantage in most games so far. Second you want to establish the inside game early. Third we were forced to go with four guards because Zack was injured for last month of 2012-13. Now we have two options this year. The problem has been that both needed to finish and up until this game we didn't have that. As for not passing it to Jerrell because he's a poor FT shooter that doesn't make sense to me. He's normally a guy who makes 5-8 (.625). He's a little under that but he's drawing fouls ( more if the refs called all the contact he draws) which helps get us into the bonus quicker. Presently we are making more FT's than our opponents have attempted.

Was unable to watch this morning's game. Hopefully Comcast Sportsnet will put it on-demand. A win is a win with this squad and we'll take it. Career high points for Jerrell!
Who's watching tonight's fugazi "Holy War?" Between a rock and a hard place.

GoExplorers.Com has the box score broken up by half.
Our second half was dynamite. We shot 47.6% from the field. We were +7 in rebounds and +3 in turnovers. JW was perfect from the field. We got to the FT line 27 times compared to 8 for SBU -- that number is inflated because of fouls at the end of the game but still. Warney was 1-9 in the second half, too.
The shot distribution between halves was fairly even. We shot the ball 9 less times in the second half than the first. We didn't shoot anywhere close to the same amount from deep.
Our bigs just absolutely ate them up statistically in the second half.

Just watched the replay. I think we are improving. Wright looked good.. Garland had an amazing move and drive to the basket at the 16 min mark in the second half. I agree with an earlier post that we look so much better when we run. Our half court game looks awful. Defenses just keep coming out and play us further and further out. If we can hit the open shots and run a bit more we can improve. This team was not big at all. I am looking forward to the Nova game now. I hope we try to run with Nova because our half court game is not that great. If our shots are falling anything can happen. I don't think we turned the corner but a win at Nova could sure do it. Let's Go LaSalle!!!

Solid win. Second half was much better play albeit a couple of head scratchers but far better than the first half. Credit to the team for making adjustments and making some shots. Most of Jerrell's shots in second half was within the flow of offense and that makes all the difference. Need to keep building on that performance. I don't understand why you crush wright. He played solid 21 points 8-11 from the field not sure what you expect. As you point out with Peterson this team has bigger issues than wright. For disclosure purposes I'm a huge wright fan.

Forgot to ask those that were there, did the team stay for the honors for Speedy?
How was that ceremony?

I am not crushing Wright. He was terrific in the second half and we don't win without him. However both he and Zack have taken too many bad shots early in this season. I gave both Jerrell and Steve high praise for the providence game as well. Truth is I like both players but they need to fix that to get to the next level as well as some other things. The second half is what we should be expecting from Jerrell more consistently. Not crushing anyone. Just calling them as I see them.

Coming back and out scoring the competition by 17 points in the 2nd half is a good sign. A nice confidence booster going into the Villanova game. We'll need to hang with the 'Cats the whole game in order to have a shot at pulling out a victory. Early season lethargic play is understandable, especially after the NCAA run in March, and playing against perceived "lesser opponents" in half empty venues, and without your leader from last year. Good win. Let's keep it going.
