Hi Guys, My name is Joe, class of 08', I live in NYC and set up a pregame for this Saturday's Game vs Stony Brook at Smithfield 215 W. 28TH Street between 7th and 8th AV (3 blocks from the Garden). I invite any one interested in attending. The bar is offering a 2hr Open Bar and serving Breakfast Burritos from 845 - 1045am for $25. Drinks include Draft of Bud Light & Batch 19, house mixed drinks, Bloody Mary's and Mimosas. This is not an Alumni Event and has not been set up by the University. Simply a handful of New York Area Alums wanting to get together before the game. Please feel free bringing love ones and family - this won't be a bunch of rowdy Men just getting trashed.
Hopefully this is an opportunity to meet each other. I do not post much, but I do read most of the threads and truly appreciate being able to come on here and get my La Salle Basketball news. If you are interested in joining please respond to this post or message me so I have an idea of how many people are coming.
Thanks!

The coffee shop down by the train is pretty solid for poughkeepsie. If you're mocking Poughkeepsie, I reinstate my earlier request to pound it. But in all seriousness, the train derailment is causing all kinds of problems. Not sure if it will be back to normal by Saturday.

My daughter just graduated from SUNY - New Paltz and she used to take the bus (Pine Trailways or something like that) from New Paltz into the city (I think it stopped at the Port Authority) all the time.

Not sure if it will be back to normal by Saturday. I'm from there too remember, I'm allowed to mock. But the coffee shop comment was serious. For the area, its good. Only one better is ... I can't remember the name. Its out on 9D. That one is legitimately good versus "good for the area".

Don't mean to miller this guys thread, so I'll keep brief. As of today, you can take train from Poughkeepsie to Yonkers, then Take shuttle bus to northern terminus if 1 subway, and take that from 242 nd in the Bronx to Penn Station (MSG stop). Or can drive 30 miles or so east and get on Harlem line, which I did today. Still sussing out which one works better, although either way when the destination is a La Salle game at my favorite sporting venue as opposed to work, I'm sure the trip will be more enjoyable than during the week.

Who wants an extra megabus code for the return trip? Leaves at 4:15pm and gets to 6th and market at 6:30pm, 31st and JFK at 6:35pm.
Getting there I would recommend regional rail so as to not miss the tip due to traffic.

I just got an email about a postgame gathering at the Ainsfield, 122 w 26th street. Pretty likely I'll be there. Never been there, but the name sounds fancy.
If you're there, look for the guy in crossover La Salle/NY Rangers gear, since I'll be going to the hockey game that night.

Check with me on Sunday morning. How I feel will go a long way towards determining how good of an idea it was.

I'd have shown up in the wrong place.

StubHub lists this ticket under St Johns Fordham. For $28 to 30 plus fees. Lower level seats. Keep an eye on it today as it may improve. Buyers market.

Just a reminder - Tomorrow's pregame at Smithfield is still starting @845 for the $25 2hr open bar. There will also be breakfast and coffee.
Any one getting into the city / or arriving at the Garden later and not interested in $25 special , feel free to stop by for a drink before the game. Hope to see some of you there!
