I think people are looking at this wrong. I see a lot of the "we would've lost this game normally" or "we got lucky"...
I think the way we should look at it is we won the game and whether it was Zack or somebody else, he came through. Whenever we can have one of our best players (Galloway) play poorly on offense and Duren shoot poorly as well (except from FT) and still win, that says a lot of the character and resiliency of the team. It also shows that this team is figuring out how to win as opposed to not knowing how to win.
If Zack's performance is indicative of the year he's going to have, then this team is in great position for a post season run because we weren't at our best yesterday.
1-0...let's enjoy it and build on it.

I think the people saying in previous years we lose this game are saying the same thing you are. That a good team can win ugly and when their best player(s) aren't having good days.
I think the response of the board has been pretty measured. No one is over the moon, but satisfied we are 1-0 and understanding we have some time to work on things.

To be able to beat a solid team like Delaware when Ramon, Tyreek, and Sam struggled offensively is a quality win in my book. They could have folded down the stretch but didn't. And how about that sophomore class, especially in crunch time. Steve, Jerrell, and DJ all played well and made big plays with the game on the line.
And give credit to Ramon for playing through the pain. He'd be the first to admit he committed three dumb fouls, but he was solid defensively and his 4 assists and clutch free throws helped get the win. This game will only help the team when playing close games later in the season.

I think what I love most about Ramon is that he doesn't get down on himself during bad games. There are going to be nights when the shots don't fall (and there are going to be some ill-advised shots, too). But he doesn't put his head down sulk. He tries to make it up on defense (and does) or find a teammate to kick it to.
We're really lucky to have Ramon. We thought Aaric was going to be the program changer. Ramon's the guy who set what this team is now into motion.
We also haven't even thought about what's going to happen when they get Ty available. They're going to have a lot of options.

In particular, Ramon's defense sets the tone for the rest of the team. "G" mentioned it in the post game interview about how Ramon's defense disrupts what other teams are trying to do offensively because he does such a good job at shutting down opposing point guards. Threatt was able to get by him a little yesterday, but that was mainly because he had to go one on one since he was having a hard time initiating their offense. Steve and Jerrell did a good job on Hagins, but the fact that he was held to only 10 shot attempts had a lot to do with Ramon and the other guards making it hard for the Delaware guards to get it to him. Hagins is really good and to hold him to 12 pts was huge. Ramon was also one of the main reasons they were able to shut down Andrew Nicholson of St Bona last year. Their point guards were a complete non-factor and just couldn't get him the ball because of the pressure they were facing. It was a disgrace that Ramon did not make the preseason A10 All Defensive team.

Muscala from Bucknell, too. They sat him the entire second half because it was sorta pointless to have him on the court since they couldn't feed him the ball. And he's really good.
