Respectfully disagree with explorerman on RS Stukes. If he plays in 13-14 we might be a little better and that's good. Too, he will be more ready for 14-15 and that's great. I am not sure why focus is on 4 years from now. Who knows what will happen. No guarantee that he will be here. Kids come and go. Lets try to win and win now! If we do that, the future will take care of itself, especially if G around for a long while.Sometimes simple-and less introspection is better-just try and win the next game with your best players or your players who are playing the best. I would step away from this position if recruit WANTS to RS for his own reasons,i.e, wants to adjust to school, wants to get stronger et al. Screamer, you can disagree with explorerman all you want, but he's right. Stukes will redshirt. The only way he won't is if one of the FIVE guards already in the rotation gets hurt and can't play the majority of the season. Stukes has totally bought into the redshirt too. Amar has confirmed he'll redshirt in at least two articles I read (one is linked below) and he's more than willing to because he can use the year to get physically stronger and improve his outside shot. www.timesherald.com/article/20130421/SPORTS01/130429945/explorers-8217-stukes-named-basketball-player-of-the-year#full_storyThere just aren't any minutes for him. It would be a wasted year of eligibility. It's tough enough finding playing time for five guards, let alone six. He knows that in 2014-15, G will hand him the ball just like he did with Duren three years ago, and he'll be the primary point guard for four years.

I'm not usually huge on red-shirting guys who can make an immediate impact, but in this case it's a no-brainer. A few MPG of Stukes this year, playing behind 3 guys who are all in their last year of eligibility, is a total waste of a year.

Thanks for answering my questions guys. I had a feeling Amar was going to redshirt but I wasnt sure about Washington.
I think Washington brings something La Salle hasnt had in awhile, a good rebounder. Zack decent but he could be better. What should be interesting is how G faciltates these minutes between Zack Rohan Wright Davis and Washington.
Due to Durenduren analysis, perhaps it isnt smart to have zack and wright on the same line. Perhaps Washington style will be a better fit for Wright or Zack. Also you never know about Davis which it seems none of us have a clue on his skill level.

Amar is a virtual lock to redshirt subject to the massive injury caveat, which is unlikely.
DD's Wright Zack analysis is interesting, but i think they can play well together. G just needs to work on cohesion and balance a bit more and be less guard focused than last year, which is the right move for this year given our low post development and loss of Ramon. In games where G went two bigs strong, like U Mass, they did fine. They need to work on cohesion also with Tony W because i think he can be a bigger contributor than people think. D, blocks, athleticism and rebounds can be brought early. Scoring and finishing can follow. He reminds me of a VCU caliber athlete.

You have to think that Washington and Davis playing time will be predicted by match ups... Playing a bruiser like Evans then you let him bang with the freight truck of Davis, playing UMASS with their quick and lanky front court then maybe Washington gets a little more PT.. but for a great majority Zack should get the PT.. He is the most established "true" center on the roster..

If we were a conventional 2 guard lineup, I would agree. But if we are a 3, maybe a 4 guard lineup, and if somebody gets hurt, we need a very good backup to play major minutes. I just value having best opportunity to win now. Its not about what is best under a variety of circumstances which will have some impact-maybe- 4 years from now.
