I largely don't give a poop about this sort of thing but ... for some reason reading this right now really mattered to me. 26th might have hurt.

With most of the team back, and new players coming in (at least 2) it will be interesting to see if La Salle is ranked at the beginning of the season.

Something as stupid as this makes me so damn happy and brings all those great feelings back of those magical 2 weeks.

This is awesome - I usually completely disregard polls but this is awesome to me. So great for the program.

This is terrific. I was wondering where we would finish. We were a top 25 team, per the coaches, very sweet!

Awesome! When was the last time we were in the top 25 in any poll?

Sure, the Explos impressed the coaches with those 3 wins but I thnk that G has won over a lot of his fellow coaches with the classy way he handled himself throughout the tournament. He was a strong figure but still very likable. He fielded every question very articulately. Even when he kind of counterpunched on the "house money" question he did it in a postive way. My sense is G is liked by his fellow coaches.

Probably correct, especially the way the pollsters like schools featuring one year Hessians (hint: think of schools between Ohio and Tennessee).

We should have been ranked #23. We were robbed! ;-)

We finished ahead of UNC in the final poll. That's a nice cherry on top.
What a great year.

I love it! Sadly, I'd been thinking about the final polls since we lost to Wichita -- figured there was no way.
Nice little treat.

Next season, I won't care about the preseason polls. You can see how much SJU put stock in all of their preseason championships this year. It's total nonsense and I won't be bragging about them nor crying about them being not high enough in September. Games are played on the court. Polls are for selling papers.

Had some shifts to the bracket preview for next year. Take a look if interested. Like said, comment away since I'm projecting instead of selecting so early in the venture. www.explorertownbracketologist.com

If Dunphy gets that team in the Tournament next season he would be a coach of the year candidate.

I will admit that I don't have a good feel for many of these teams yet, but for the ones that I do know, I 'll be shocked if Temple and Butler wind up with 5 seeds

Agreed a 5 seed might have been a little high. But Temple is in a top loaded conference. Louisville, Memphis and UCONN will do a lot to bolster that conference nationally and Temple will finish fourth. No doubt they make the tourney. Even Cincy sneaks in as a low seed. UCONN by the way will be a team to watch. Boatright and Nappier will play with tenacity. Great guard duo. Updated bracket. I also discounted Stanford way too much. Their senior forwards will carry them next year. www.explorertownbracketologist.com

Temple has a slim chance at best to make the tourney, I would be surprised if they make it actually. Look at who they have coming back and coming in and explain how they "no doubt make the tourney". Their current roster would say otherwise.

Dunphy will have to coach his heart out to have next years Owls finish above .500

Fair point. I think you;re discounting Anthony Lee and Will Cummings. They were very young last year and will step up as Juniors. Also the bottom half of the AAC sucks quite frankly which will help Temple. I'll tell you what though. Kilpatrick is coming back for Cincy and he's a monster. I'll put Cincy in front of Temple. I'm going to let Temple prove me wrong; as of right now, they're in.

Again, looking at their team for next season, it would be a minor miracle if Temple makes the tourney. No depth and overall not enough experience.

I've completely bought the St. John's hype for next year. Sampson/Harrison will be a nice inside/outside combo. They replace Temple. Can the AAC get 5 teams in? Right now they do. www.explorertownbracketologist.com
