Getting late in the season, and there are 8 A-10 games today. After today, everyone will have played 14 games, and we should have a more clear picture with regards to potential seeding. So I figured we could use this thread for discussion of all of today's other games:
VCU is up 10 on Butler about 8 minutes in to the 1st Half. URI@Temple- 2:00PM UMass @xavier- 2:00PM SLU @ GW- 4:00PM Richmond @ Dayton- 4:00PM Charlotte @ SBU- 7:00PM Fordham @ St. Joe's- 7:00PM
The other 2:00 games are huge for us. Want to be able to clinch a Bye without needing to beat SLU next Saturday.

If Butler loses, do we more or less clinch a bye (if we win our next two)? They'll have one more loss than us.

Butler has nobody can handle the ball. It's a disaster for them against that junk ball VCU plays

"junk ball"? Pretty sure it's proven to work and be successful

URI up 37-36 on Temple at the half. Temple doing their usual thing where they don't start playing against a bad team until the last 4 minutes of the 1st Half.
Xavier up 2 on UMass with 3 to go in the Half.

Xavier up 2 on UMass with 3 to go in the Half. Xavier and Temple, naturally, would be huge in terms of locking up a spot and bye... Probably not happening.... But it would create the GW game at home for at least the number #3 spot... which we have seen could loom large in the QF A-10 tournament game.

Prepared for both Temple and Xavier to infuriate me by winning late, closer than is should be against teams they are a lot better than, at home.

Temple wins. UMass with a 6 point lead on Xavier with 56.3 seconds to go. They just got a bogus travel call so X has the ball back.

UMAss up 5 with 15.4 to go and the ball. Not only does this loss mean Xavier can't catch us, with Butler and SLU still to go, they could fall below 6, which would be awesome for us. The 3 is probably the highest we can expect to go without beating SLU. If that means we play play Temple or Xavier, that hurts. If somehow Xavier falls to 7 or lower, the 3 seed could mean we get like a Richmond or SBU maybe.

UMass beats X to give us some breathing room:
1. St. Louis - 11-2 2. VCU - 11-3 3. La Salle - 10-4 4. Butler - 9-5 5. Temple - 9-5 6. UMass - 8-6 7. Xavier - 8-6 8. Richmond - 7-6 9. Charlotte - 6-7 10. St. Joe's - 6-7 11. St. Bona - 6-7 12. GW - 6-7 13. Dayton - 5-8 14. URI - 3-11 15. Fordham - 2-11 16. Duquesne - 1-13

Yeppp If I read it correctly...
IF we win against GW, we guarantee ourselves a bye...
At least a 4 seed with all of the tie breakers...

I think that's either definitely true, or close enough to true that it counts. The most likely scenarios would be us tying at 11-5. If we 3 way tie with Butler and Temple for seeds 3-5, we'd all be 1-1 against each other. I believe then it goes to highest record against the top team. Since Temple beat St. Louis (and would beat VCU as well in this scenario) they would get the 3. Then it goes to a straight 2 team tie-breaker, which we'd have over Butler.

The thing that's clear though is the 5 seed is going to be a very good team. If we get the 4, and just have to turn around and play Butler or Temple (barring a Thursday upset), the 4 was only a slight benefit in that it eliminated the chance for a real bad loss.
I believe, a win and a Temple loss will clinch the 3 seed for us. Assuming SLU and VCU say 1-2, if we win again, we'd be 11-5. A Temple loss would be their 6th, meaning they couldn't catch us, and Butler could only tie us, at which point we have the tie-break.

Plus, like I said before, 3 seed means night game in Brooklyn, which means I'm there. I may be there either way, but if I have to conveniently come down sick that Friday, it could make things a lot tougher to be sick the next week, if *knock wood*, we played early in the afternoon on Thursday or Friday in the NCAA Tournament.

Don't think it'll hold up, but GW has a 1 point lead on St. Louis with 10 minutes to go.

GW putting a scare into SLU. That would throw the whole A-10 into chaos

GW hanging tough vs St. Louis.
GW win would be great. Not only would it give La Salle a chance to win the A10 title at St. Louis, but it will also make the GW game more winnable. Usually teams that pull off huge upsets come out flat the next game. See PSU today.
