Great defense without fouling on that last possession. Wouldn't let Bishop beat them.

Great ugly win against GW(We own GW this year). First half of basketball was ugly on the offensive side of the ball. Brickus(21 points 8 rebounds and 3 assists) and Brantley(15 points and 9 rebounds) carry us in the 1st half of the game. Shepherd(10 points and 8 rebounds) and Gill(6 points and 3 rebounds) pick their game up in the second half of the game. Defense came through at the end of the game for this victory. My armchair player of the game is Jhamir Brickus. Tomorrow we got the Bonnie in the second round. Let us survive and advance tomorrow. Let get it baby.

That was what you would expect from a last place play in game… Ugly! Thankful for the win!
Reminder to friends that we really need to keep Brickus.. He just has a different level… Dump the NIL $$ on him..
Just do it..
Huge class for Dunphy to get the necessary reset on the roster so we avoid playing the play in games..

Allright! We will take it! Feels good! Feels good! Does Bishop want to transfer? Bishop is out of eligibility. This was his fifth season. He entered college in 2019

I kinda like us +180 right now. Everyone excluding Brickus is shooting 6 for 30 and its just impossible anything close to that keeps up. Brickus' 2 fouls are a concern. I took it

No worries about crossover with Deuce Jones? I promise you that guy isn't coming in here to play second fiddle. I hope Brickus stays too...but I just don't know if that's what is in the cards.

He's playing on that all star team in Asbury Park masquerading as a Group 1 public school. Maybe since he has to share the ball among all those transfers that magically appeared in that school this year, he could play with Jig for a year.

We can’t buy a bucket now. How many shot Jocius miss under the basket. I didn't watch live. Did we play a lot of zone and hack them? Trying to understand how GW got 24 trips to the line and also shot just 7 for 26 from two point land, 26.9 pct. Our guys were actually much better inside the arc in attempts and conversions made at 16 for 47, or 36pct. Only 8 trips to the free throw line though, which won't help us tomorrow against Bona. Key stat in the win is our 4 turnovers vs 7 steals. Outscored GW 11-5 in "points off turnovers."

Nah not worried. Want the best talent on the court. Combo guards can exchange ball handling duties.. Really excited for Deuce and his stock is only on the rise since commitment but he is not current Brickus production in Year 1. Let them split #1 and #2 duties Dunphy has a history going slowly with freshman so unlikely to happen next season.. “Letting the game come to him will be Deuce’s big adjustment” from an assistant coach friend

The rest of the tournament...you give the ball to Brickus and have him carry us as far as he can. Much like he did against Temple. As for next year...the kid has been a great Explorer in all aspects. But after 4 years at 20th and Olney, he deserves to look at his options and give it a shot elsewhere. As long as it's not in the Big 5 or A10.

Never saw a anyone here wish a top player to look elsewhere. I certainly don't wish our best players to leave the program but I expect him to leave. Jig has a child and he will want to get the most $$$ he can find. It won't be here sadly. Not sure what he could command in college basketball but playing oversees could be an option as well.

Key stat in the win is our 4 turnovers vs 7 steals. Outscored GW 11-5 in "points off turnovers." overall, i thought the officiating was okay. gw shot poorly from two because our guys really contested them which resulted in the foul shot discrepancy more than anything. khalil and shep did fine jobs on bishop and buchanan and to me, that was the difference in the game. jhamir and tunde also helped cover those two during parts of the game plus dunph played a decent amount of zone in the second half when the fouls started piling up. my only issue with the refs on that side of the floor was a couple blatant moving picks by akingbola which resulted in an open three by bishop and a drive by buchanan, both in crunch time. offensively, the team missed a number of layups and short runners that weren't really contested that much by gw which is why they didn't go to the line much. our guys make a decent percentage of those shots and it's a 10 point win. i'm not worried about only going to the line 8 times yesterday. today is a different game. yes, only having 4 turnovers and winning the points off turnovers stat were big factors in the win.

Playing three guys (that aren't three point shooters) that are between 6-1 and 6-2 at the same time in the atlantic 10 is a recipe for disaster, no?

who are the three guys you're talking about ? the three guys you mentioned got confused because brickus is 5'11". so you don't think brickus is a 3 point shooter ? he's shot 40% from three for the season which is pretty good. deuce made 44 threes in 21 games this year, don't know his percentage, but i saw a couple games online and he shot it well. and khalil has been better down the stretch. he's now a little over 32% for the year but is shooting 42% from three while the team has gone 5-2 over the last month. and if la salle catches a break and all three are here next year, it's not like they're going to be on the floor together for 35 minutes per game. but i can see them playing together for at least 20 minutes per game. they have the potential to be a matchup nightmare. deuce also gives us another hardnosed defender.

I wouldn’t call any of them primarily three point shooters though.

I wouldn’t call any of them primarily three point shooters though. Marrero is the only primarily 3 pt shooter. Jig is very efficient at the 3 but he’s so good all around that it’s more of a complimentary skill for him (at least to me). Khalil is ok and statistically his shooting is the equivalent of shooting 50% from 2. However, I don’t necessarily have confidence when he shoots a 3.

Looking forward to a day when our 6'10 center can get the ball over the front of the rim. I'm also done watching highlights of Euros dominating and getting excited about it. Lastly, if I'm Ash, Giannini is getting a 900K, 4 year offer before we leave Brooklyn. Yes, I was happy when we fired him. I also split up with my wife for 3 months when she was just my girlfriend. 10 years and 4 kids later, things are working out OK. I will let G recruit athletes, run players off in the portal, schedule his shit teams, basically everything except play his stall ball up 8 points with 8 minutes to play. Bring back G! Gadzooks ! How soon we all forget ...
