Any big man of marginal size or skill absolutely tears this team apart. We need interior D. It is very true.... Pretty embarrassing.. And is the main reason why we haven't beat the good teams

If this was a better team, we'd be in serious trouble. The week rest will do us good.

It does seem like Zack is playing in slow mode again like he did last year... Better get back to training!

It's a win and can't complain about that. I don't care how we look as long as we win

Jerrell was sensational. Career high with 15 rebounds and great hustle. I think that was a HUGE positive today.
Didn't URI have a late lead at Ohio State this season? They will be real tough next year with 4-5 transfers sitting out this year.
Good win guys at a place where we always struggle.

I'm thrilled with this win, and don't care how ugly it was, because it means we're very likely going to the tournament. Just need to take care of business at home against Duquesne and GW.
Btw, URI has very little offensive talent, but they're well coached and they play hard on defense. Against the other top teams, they beat St. Louis and kept it close against Butler and VCU. They deserve some credit for how bad our teams looked at times; it wasn't necessarily just a matter of our guys regressing or having a bad day.

Tough game to watch and probably tough to ,play after Thur. But lets not forget that we all too often would lose this game. JW was huge.

ok, the 2012 Fordham feeling was fleeting but that first half was a life shortening.
I am beginning to wonder about Zack. Is there any comparison between him and the kid from Spain that played for Temple when Dunph first got there. The Spaniard ended up making a contribution to the Owl cause.

Galloway is 1-3 with 3 turnovers and Mills isn't even looking for his shot yet Jerrell is called a turnover machine with ONE. He gets 5 tough points and 7 rebounds. At least he's playing hard. Agreed I like wright as well, this board has a very manic personality.

Does Zack know we are playing a game today? Zack is the player on this team that frustrates me the most, he can't catch. He should just sit under the basket.

Mills and Peterson are spot up shooters....
Mills is too afraid to drive.. He should just drive to keep the defenses honest.. He dribbles hard to the center of the arc and then automatically kicks out... He needs to just take it in a couple times and try to draw fouls.. Make them at least honor you... The person defending Mills is not really going to be a defensive stalwart...

A gutsy win.
URI doesn't have a lot of talent but they're REALLY well coached and know spacing and things like that. In three years, they're going to be a force in whatever conference they'll be in.
As far as the good guys: Wright won this game. He was just a man in there today. Great to see. Zack is completely gassed. He hit a wall in a big way.

no watch parties but i am glad it is on. hopefully they show up today sinc they laid an egg vs temple Good Watching place is at mcgillicuddys in roxborough for every TV game. They are a sponsor of the radio broadcast. I Used to like the moose instead, but the place smells smoky now because of the barbecue spot next door. Also, the lens room urinal there has beenbroken for going on 10 years or more, which causes a sickening stench! Won't flush.

Does Zack know we are playing a game today? Did he know we were playing a game against Temple? Not fair. He didn't do much to hurt us. G went with a smaller lineup and Zack was only in the game only 17 min. I believe that was a coaching decision, not dictated by poor play.

Shooting only 30 pct and letting them shoot 44 pct is just plan bad execution and coaching. G better have all the second half answers or he is better off submitting his resignation today. In February. Leave us on the bubble after a 19-7 start (18-8 if we had lost today). What a lunatic you are.

The Ugly Moose men's room is one of the worst bathrooms in the entire city of Philadelphia. The Moose is so cozy and then it has a bathroom in a bar from something like On The Waterfront.
Deke's, the BBQ place, is quality.
Also, I've been afraid of going to JP's based on the awfulness of its name. However, I got a chicken cheesesteak from the Wayne location this week and was QUITE impressed.

I believe that was a coaching decision, not dictated by poor play. Fair. He threw at least three errant passes that got picked off (whether or not he was charged for the TO is immaterial) from where I was sitting at Temple, blew a ton of defensive assignments, and had no hands. I'm not saying he was the sole reason we lost at Temple, but he was bad. He's looked lost the past few games, he needs to regain his early season form. Maybe it's conditioning and he's just wearing down due to the minutes, who knows.

Here's TG's assists from the PxP (all but 1st came in the 2nd half). Love that they all led to 3s, layups and dunks.

Assisted by Tyrone Garland. 8:23 Ramon Galloway made Three Point Jumper. Assisted by Tyrone Garland. 7:42 Jerrell Wright made Dunk. Assisted by Tyrone Garland. 5:25 Jerrell Wright made Layup. If this was a better team, we'd be in serious trouble. The week rest will do us good. I was thinking this during the course of the game a number of times.
And there is such a thing as a "bad win." When you barely beat an opponent you're supposed beat by 20 points or more, that's a bad win. When you barely beat a bottom-feeder in your own conference, look completely disorganized, and are entertaining thoughts of the NCAA Tournament (and are trying to prove to the Selection Committee you deserve to be picked), that's a bad win.

Just got back from the official NEPA viewing party (me sitting alone at the Mineshaft Cafe in Ashland). It was an ugly win--and Rhodey looks dreadful--but it was a critical win for us to get. There are no gimmes in the A-10 this year, but GW and Duq at home are about as close as you're going to get. This was the game we needed to get.
