Well that was a lot more fun than I was expecting this afternoon. This team is a joy to watch.

Team played hard. I think they’re going to have to play small to win against good teams. But the run and jump needs to lead to more steals and more possessions. Good showing nonetheless.

respectable performance, obvious overall talent gap but to me showing we are maybe just a piece or 2 away.

Ugh I thought we were going to win this one. We are one capable big man away from getting over the hump.

Really proud of our effort!!! This team doesn’t quit. I do think it is time to put FASASI in the starting lineup.

Fouls 17 us only 8 them. And it wasn't because we were fouling at the end. Really thought the officiating significantly favored Miami.

This was a better showing today against Miami than Duke. I love watching this team win or lose. I just wonder than if we have a better post player, we could have won this game. We are a more effective team playing small ball. The one negative about playing small ball is if we played a team with an athletic big man that can put the ball on the floor. This was a better showing against a top ranked ACC team.

Gill has been out of sync for a few games now. Yeah he often forces things. Leads the team in TO’s. Had four today Could see a little less of him and more Marrero or Fasasi

Gill needs to play because he’s one of the only wing stoppers they got.

Have watched Miami play a few times this year and they’re a very very good team. Thought we were in trouble 10 minutes in but pleasantly surprised how we hung in against this team on the road.
A10 has almost no easy wins this year but will be surprised if we don’t go at least .500 or better in conference. Love the composure of this team and they are well coached. Really just one game we were not in so far - Duke on the road.
A10 tournament if we can get a bye might be fun…

Yeah he often forces things. Leads the team in TO’s. Had four today Could see a little less of him and more Marrero or Fasasi Yeah they really need more play.. If it is at the expense of Gill and Rokas then let it happen.. I appreciate him playing hurt but you can’t do that our there.. The best players need to play.. Period this is D1 basketball.. Tunde is showing the preseason hype from coaches and Marrero is consistently been good for us this season minus 1 game. Gotta flip his 18-20 avg minutes played for Gill’s, 35+.. Eye test says and advanced metrics scream it.. Defense needs to get ramped wayyyyyy too easy to penetrate our defense from the perimeter.. Way too many easy layups and dunks… On really no set plays.. Lack of communication continues to be a problem among the perimeter players… dime a dozen but one that was egregious was between Shepherd and Brantley where a phantom pick and roll was set.. The pick was not even used a the Miami player just went straight to basket while both Shepherd and Brantley didn’t even move.. this happen weirdly often with our team but we have to stop with the soft and passive defense.. And repeated communication issues among players who have played multi -years is worrisome Good fight from the guys (and timely shots from Tunde and Marrero) got us close.. Just gotta these issues that we repeatedly struggling with taken care and we come damage this year in conference play..

Stats tell the story. As usual, Jocius AWOL as a big. 24 minutes. 2 reb 1 block. Both rebs were defensive. No low post game again. Killed on the boards. Miami 39 rebounds. LaSalle 25. Sheperd can jump over people........he'd draw a ton of fouls if his offensive game was closer to the basket and more aggressive. That being said, Miami won on the foul line going 18 for 21 and us only 6 of 7. We were called for 17 PFs. Hard to believe they only got called on 8.
What's the word on Milos Kovacovic? He's 6'9" 235lbs. Could he contribute down low?

I watched without sound due to where I was (at different games). Henson does a good job on the Field of 68 podcast. He might be horrible now but like a lot of former players they improve with time (I have a friend who was horrible doing his team’s broadcasts 15 years ago. Now he is quite good
Secondly, no such thing as over the back. I laugh when people yell “over the back”. Not mentioned in the rulebook
Miami doesn’t play a lot of guys. A lot of national guys have been talking about that for about a month - they have no depth
I love this team. While Temple was a winnable game, they have won the games they are supposed to.
Rosemont’s coach is a Hawk Hill guy. Beat Rosemont and get some guys some time
That game won’t be a measure but I think Zan can be a really solid rotation guy in the future

The Rokas problem is truly our biggest issue.
We have no size and no depth in the frontcourt. Rokas was supposed to hold that down and we are not even getting Freshman Rokas. Not sure if or what an injury may be ailing him but we need to find a way to plug that hole in the dyke.
I am seeing 6 guys contribute now which is just great but no one in the paint.

Secondly, no such thing as over the back. I laugh when people yell “over the back”. Not mentioned in the rulebook. semantics. going over the back isn't a foul if you reach over the person in front of you to secure the ball without displacing them, but if you slam into the person from behind and knock them down, it's a foul. the miami guy knocked shepherd to the floor. if it was the other way round, you can be sure it would have been called. lots of shitty calls went miami's way today, particularly by jerry heater, the ref with the buzz cut.

I was very impressed with the effort our guys put forth as well as the coaching Dunphy did (And was noted by the announcers). As was also mentioned by the broadcast team, I have a hard time seeing this team finishing 15th in the A-10.
