I had to leave after regulation and just saw the shot CAL had it right in this thread……this never happens for us!!!! Great fucking game. Both teams were great You mentioned it a couple times on the thread… I normally wouldn’t be so stoked on beating a non-scholly Ivy school by a half/court buzzer beater where we gave up 80+ pts in regulation where our perimeter was again lacking BUT Penn looked really really good. They are going to do some damage this year in Ivies. On that note, Ivy League should very interesting this year but Penn has a very good team. Good on our boys to fight back after an emotionally and physically draining game vs Temple. It would have been understandable if they came out lackluster in execution. Wins of any type always make the next day better Great atmosphere that day. It was a long one.

Didn’t see it mentioned, but Tunde played very well yesterday.
I mentioned in the Temple game thread he was a concern for more on his defense but he defended much better yesterday and looks more comfortable in the offense. Wanted to give him kudos for his play yesterday.
If he continues to develop and Shepherd stays aggressive we are much better.

More positive takeaways :
I was greatly impressed with the way that Khalil Brantley, during every time out late in the game during both regulation and the overtime, went out of his way to ' rally the troops ' and bolster the confidence of his teammates.
I also thought that the NBC Sports announcers Dr. G and Matt Martucci did an outstanding job broadcasting all 3 of the BIG 5 Classic basketball games, with Dr. G providing salient commentary and insights drawing upon his wealth of knowledge and familiarity with basketball situational strategy, the coaches and players of all of the teams involved, as well as the history of the Big Five.

I think time and distance reveals Dr. G is an incredible basketball mind and we were really lucky to have him. There is a time limit on 99 percent of college coaches. But G really was a special coach who showed his stuff when he was able to catch lightning in a bottle in 2013.

G was great. Tooch is great too and his partnership with Giannini is better than his partnership with Lunardi. I would love to see G get a shot at some top flight games.

Classic G line ......."La Salle doesn't pass the airport test". I thought that was fantastic. Funny but very correct. We are not trotting out 6 "6"11 guys and 4 guards 6"5 and over. We are well coached and pretty quick with our Big 3.
He always had great one-liners when he was coaching La Salle. It was nice to hear another one on Saturday.

How do they leave out the 6 pt end of regulation comeback? Anyone who doesn't have peacock just might want to pay the $5.99/month ...just don't forget to cancel.
