Wow this would fill a major need and La Salle can sell major playing time. I can't see him commanding much money now so maybe La Salle has a good shot to sell him on his future, even say hey if you do well here you can get more NIL later elsewhere.
He was #42 National player out of high school on 247. Probably about a 3 star regraded but he played 15% of minutes at UCLA so he was getting some time.
FWIW Trilly Donovan has actually proven to be a pretty good source, I was skeptical at first but he has been early on alot of info.

He'd have to sit out though, right, if he transferred again?
Big East vs A10. DePaul hasn't lit the conference on fire and hasn't made the dance since 2004, but he'd be going against good competition in a multi-bid league. Could he get to the dance with us? Tough call if the conference stays 1-bid.
I haven't renewed my season tickets yet, but if we land him, I'll instantly do it.

Not if he graduates. No idea where his course work is at though. He enrolled December 2020. Could be a graduate after the school year.

You can transfer immediately one time. This is his first transfer so he can play immediately. I think I have that right but not 100%.
You are right, Glitter was referencing my thought of being able to transfer twice. You can grad transfer with immediate eligibility no matter if you transferred before.
We need help in the frontcourt. Even if it is a role player. Before his knee injury he was averaging almost 3 pts and 3 boards in just 11 minutes and shooting 60% from the floor.. He isn’t going to be shooting many free throws.
With Dunphy teaching him he is worth the scholarship for me.

i hope you're kidding. this kid had over 30 offers out of prep school with 20 coming from power conference schools. he was limited at ucla due to a torn acl. i have no idea what la salle's chances at getting him are, but make no mistake he would be a very good pickup. he'd be able to play immediately and has 3 years of eligibilty left. at worst, he adds a shot blocker and dunker on the low post.
what i am most excited about is not losing the coaching battle almost every night.

Depaul fired their coach Tony Stubblefield today. Mac Etienne has played a total of just 93 minutes in 12 games. Hope he got a boatload of NIL money. Doesn't seem playing for DePaul has worked out for him.
We are bone-dry thirsty for someone to play for us. Rarely do things seem to work out as we hoped in the recruiting world.
In my opinion, Mac Etienne is staying at De Paul for that NIL money. Mac Etienne is a non factor at De Paul and I’m glad that we didn’t sign him. We have frontline players that we recruited sitting on the bench. They just need playing time to develop their skills. I believe Coach Fran will recruit another big man oversea or the portal.
NCAA needs to be drained of current leadership. Otherwise all colleges allowing students to be paid more than what a normal student can earn at a part-time job must lose their 501c3 exemption as it violates their tax-exempt status. This will also stop state schools and other schools with large endowments from "crushing the competition" which is not the purpose of higher education institutions. If the current trend goes on without oversight or common sense regulations you will be left with just 32 or so big state schools playing division 1 basketball in 10 years or so.
